Halo 4 is a first person shooter for the xbox 360 and xbox one. Halo 4 is the 8th of 11 games in the series and the 4 installment in the master chief’s story. At its core Halo 4 is just like all the other halo games with the same story driven campaign and arena multiplayer. but there are a few things within Halo 4 that make it stand out from the other titles. Firstly the multiplayer added the use of weapon classes which allow you to enter the game with a different variety of weapons, armor abilities, grenades and perks. At first it seems like this additon seemed like a great idea but once you got playing and leveled up there was a very large skill gap that stop the lower level players from doing well. The map design was also very lack luster. the maps were all very generic snow, desert, forest and city locations. In previous halos the maps all consist of very unique maps which all have their place within the universe. The xbox one version of this game also fails to even load multiplayer in general. since day one of the game’s launch the the multiplayer has been broke and even 11 months after the game fails to work at 100%.
Halo 4’s campaign delivers just what you would expect from the space epic. it gives you a great story that can stand on its own but gives more than enough lore for the players who have played the previous games and read the books. The story follows the Chief 4 years after the events of halo 3 when the master chief and arbiter stop the halo ring from firing and the chief gets stranded in space. the campaign then follows chief as he explores the shield world known as Requiem and stops the didact from using the human race as his army of undead soldiers. But it also has an interesting side story where the chief’s A.I Cortana is going rampant and is going to go mad and will die soon. this is interesting because Cortana has been your guide since the first game. The thought of her dieing has an effect of the core fans.
If you’re a fan of the halo franchise this game is a must play but if you’re a casual player Halo Reach will provide a better experience.
I feel like a fool for even taking the bait, but here goes:
Please follow this up with reviews of the other… eleven games, because I really feel the need to know what you think of them as well. I would also appreciate independent and comprehensive explorations of multiplayer FPS concepts such as “skill gap” and “reticle bloom.” I also feel like you have more to say on the subject of art direction across the different titles in the Haloverse. And if you really want to do yourself credit as a reviewer then you should very carefully compare Halo 4 on MCC to Halo 4 on the 360 as there is ample distinction to be found between the two and your audience could only benefit from rigorous exploration of these differences.
Eleven? Really?
one question. Why would you review the game 3 year after its come out. also halo 4 is -Yoink-
