Halo 4 & reclaimer trilogy theory

Hi everyone!

So I have seen a lot of complaints about halo 4, and some of the complaints were about the storyline being inconsistent and disconjointed. I actually felt like the storyline was very well written, and if you took the time to find the terminals and watch them, fairly complete. However, there was one big detail about the storyline that DID bother me… Why were we fighting the covenant again? I thought that after halo 3 we had an alliance with the elites at least!

Then I got to thinking, and now I have a theory about why, as well as where the reclaimer trilogy might be headed storyline wise. In the beginning of halo 4, cortana made a comment about “these covenant” not being outfitted like standard military, and that they seemed more fanatical. In the previous halo games, we saw a small covenant faction which was more fanatical, but they only appeared once in one mission throughout all of the halo games; and it wasn’t while playing as master chief. I think these fanatical covenant are the heretics from halo 2 that we fought as the arbiter. I think the heretics rose to power and that we will see the return of the arbiter in halo 5 and/or 6, as a companion once again fighting along side the master chief against the heretics. This theory also seems to be supported by the 11th terminal in halo anniversary, threshold. I think the 11th terminal was hinting at this storyline possibility while also hinting at a halo 2 anniversary.

Anyway, this theory is only speculation at this point, and I thought I’d share it with you all to hear others’ opinions, theories, and ideas. What do you all think?

SPOILERS…maybe?

Anyways, you’re kind of on to something, yes.

Jul Mdama is from Sanghelios, same as Arby. However, in the aftermath of the Human/Covenant War Sanghelios is in shambles and the Humans choose to pounce on this to try and eliminate the Elites for good. So they poke both sides with a very long stick called ONI, and Infinity at one point. They Elites are dumb, and the ones who still believe in the Prophets and The Great Journey believe that this is the Aribiter’s doing and decided to rise against him…sparking Sanghelios and the Elites into a Civil War. Well Jul is more a hater of Humans than anything, due to his captivity and torture. He escapes the Humans and is randomly teleported to ANOTHER planet full of Elites who don’t associate hardly at all with Sanghelios. These Elites are also nut-jobs who believe the Forerunners are Gods and that The Great Journey awaits them. Jul apparently convinces them to join his efforts to race to The Didact.

Then Halo 4 happened.
