I’m seeing everywhere that Halo 4 isn’t bringing ranks back?
The whole reason i fell in love with Halo Online Multiplayer was the ranking system it gave me and my friends and family reason to come back on and play constantly I mean we couldnt get Halo out of our minds I went without Xbox Live for 5 years and all i did that entire time was beg and plead to spend the night with any relative that had internet just to play Halo… Halo is what started and kept me on xbox i mean me and my family have spent probably a a couple thousand maybe more on Xbox Live just because of Halo but my passion died on Halo Reach i just dont want “Halo 4” to mess it up even tho everythings already in motion Halo is just dumb without a real competitive ranking system… I mean hell anyone can just earn credits or score points over time… that’s boring there’s no real motivated goal i mean “Halo 2/3” you had to fight to keep your level it took real skill and it made you proud to have that number or symbol by all this i mean mostly “Halo 2” but none the less it was fun and you actually had to fear a loss instead of being able to shut down your xbox or dashboard like some pansies…
But all in all im asking at least make an old fashioned playlist to match the Halo 2/3 days…
I really dont want all my words to go to waste please do something about it!

I feel the same way, Because of the ranks in Halo 2 and 3 I played the game like it was my religion. When Halo Reach came out I was bored of the game within a few months I had no reason to be good at the game. It seems like 343 hasn’t even put any thought into this. Franky pretty much hates the idea of having a rank probaly because he can’t get a 50 and noir could I but I wanted it so I played for it. Franky said they have a few ideas for a ranking system but, One would think they would of had a plan for a ranking system by now. Its as if they can’t figure out why Halo Reach failed even though every Halo fan tells them why.

Yeah I just get so pumped for Halo that its insane… I spent 150$ on Halo Reach not to mention we bought 3 more for my Mom/Dad/Brother and i regretted it everyday after… Im willing to pick up some extra cash to buy Limited Edition for “Halo 4” but i really hope they dont make me regret it…
They NEED the Ranking system if this game is going to keep its former glory after “Halo Reach’s” Destruction of it…

Right, we all know there is no 1-50. But we may see an equivalent to 1-50 that may be even better.
Well i pray that’s whats going on but from what i’ve seen so far its not thats why im posting word here hoping they see and do something about it before its to late…
And don’t take it as “oh another one of these” this is the only game keeping me connected to xbox and i need games during boring winter/nights/days something that i enjoy not just play to pass time
Well if it means anything, the terri bad Arena system isn’t coming back either nor is Halo 3s version of 1-50.
I really hope 343 makes the natural evolution of both ranking systems and makes an awesome system from the pros and ditches the cons on what DIDN’T work.
None of this “I can boost Spartan OPs till i am Mythic but i am still good” stuff. Not saying that kind of progressions system can’t exist within Halo. It just can’t be the ONLY system available. Reach made this mistake and by not having enough unlocks IMO (it’s just a boring grind from Noble to Inheritor).
A new, awesome ranking system would give incentives to players to keep improving and coming back if ranking are their thing. Of course the deranking and buying of accounts is BS 343 should be looking to stomp out.
Elitism you can’t get rid of and it exists in Reach as well despite 1 ranked playlist and progression system. Not a valid reason to not bring back ranking though.
More than 1 ranking playlist too. Not 99 social 1 percent competitive.

The whole Arena thing just blew… none of those so called “ranks” ment anything i mean you see someone with 1600 your like okay he played 3-4 good games and got the rank…
Halo 2 you see people with 35-40 plus the symbols your on there Yoinking! yourself

none that kept me addicted i could play Halo 2/3 everyday all day
but CoD just sucks so bad… im cant play Gears 3 online for god knows why and i cant get ahold of anyone to help… Skyrim you can only play for so long…
Nothing really keeps me going at it… and i’d play Halo 3 still if i didnt have to re-buy the maps to this different account…

Yeah, CoD sucks royally now. But Skyrim can get addictive.

It’s ok. But yeah I agree with the post. And no one is forcing anyone to play ranked playlist.
