I’m tired of discussions about ranking systems but just clearify all.
The skill ranking system is in. Like Reach (but better), like Halo 3 (but invisible)

Bumping is against the forum rules bro
If it is invisible there is no point.
What’s the point of having the Mtn Dew Double XP?
/thread
Just because you don’t know your rnk doesn’t mean you are not ranked. Most people have no idea what they are talking about. Reach DID have a ranking system, Truskil, and it was hidden also.
I understand why they hide the ranking system. It causes massive cheating and general abusive of the system. think boosters, delevellers and to a degree stand by artist. Without that visible 50 beside a name it takes away a lot of the motivation to do that stuff.
That being said I would have no problem with a visible ranking system. What’s important to me is that the system works and we are matched up against people of our own general skill level.

how is it ranking you? with skill? how does it determine that? from gameplay? ok so lets look at how people played halo reach. Another game with no incentive to try in the games or win them. So people don’t try or screw around therefore giving a false gauge of there actual skill. SO now you have another game like halo reach where teams of random actual skills are combined. hmm sounds like a truly brilliant ranking system.

I try to win. Most people I am playing with and against are trying to win. Very few just screw around and get killed the entire time. Horrible reasoning.
Your Truskil rank is determined by a number of factors including win/loss, kills, assist and deaths.

In the stream they explained that they made it invisible because a lot of people would boost, cheat or run around alone expecting to win, which did happen a lot in 3. More so than in Reach imo.
ok ok -_- forget no chance to have a good discuss…
Boosters essentially ruined Double Team and derankers were very annoying.
What annoys me is, loooking at the comments sec. of the vid, all these people are talking abut 343 = noobs, halo 4 is dead, and “i’ll see you in Halo 3”.
This proves that all people care about is having some stupid number next to their name, even though he confirmed that YOU WILL BE PAIRED WITH PEOPLE OF THE SAME SKILL LEVEL!
These people aren’t true halo fans I don’t care what you have to say about “it’s how you enjoy the game” no, not to them. All they want is to have some dumb number next to their name that goes up if they win and down if they don’t, I wonder if they truly care about being paired with even matches or just want to brag amongst other people. Most likely it’s the latter, it’s just pathetic.

You play the game to play the game because thats fun, not to get a number next to your name. If you want bragging rights win the game plain and simple. They already said that this system has been improved from reach.

Please be careful with this. you are defining what fun is for other people. Just because you define fun in a certain way doesn’t mean everyone else should. Fun to some could be as simple as winning. fun to another might be trying to pull spectacular things in a game. Another might be using a certain weapon. Yet another might be trying to attain the rank of 50. We are not to judge what others consider fun. Our concern is when their idea of fun affects the community, for better or worse, and how to handle that.

So a number or a visible sign does?
I swear most people that want a visible rank system are little kids or people with no lives that love to wave their e-peens around.
Nothing to work to or try for? how about actually winning to win? how about playing the game cause it fun?
I swear gamers these days want instant gratification for every little thing they do.
God knows that people can’t be happy knowing that they and the people they play against know how good they are by just by playing with them because that is just ridiculous.
Please, go back to Halo 3 and stay there because I can guarantee no one will miss or want your whiny -Yoinks!- in Halo 4 (you know a whole different games).

Facepalm…the Double XP lets you unlock stuff faster. If it gave you double “rank,” it wouldn’t be rank, would it?

Yes I apoligize and a lot of those are fun but I think people trying to achieve 50 have a false sense of fun they aren’t actually playing for fun, I know because I was like them once I always tried to get better in halo 3 just to do it not because it was fun. I thought it was at the time, eventually I learned that this isn’t actual fun. But people are entitled to their delusions.
