Halo 4 Ranking System NEEDS CHANGED

Halo 4 NEEDS to have the 1-50 system and the experience points system from Reach. It has the competitive aspect as well as your actual skill. I feel like it is no fun having your rank based on how much you play because then all the bad kids think that they are good. That was the problem with Reach for me. 343 can easily keep track of boosting if it’s an issue at all. Or they can make it so one can’t even boost in the first place by making you go up only one rank on the 1-50 scale every time you win, instead of 4 or 5 ranks from boosting.

I have loved the Halo series ever since it came out and I would really be disappointed if the 1-50 ranking system got taken out.

We don’t even know what the ranking system is yet…

Honestly no, not to be rude or anything but no matter what you say at this point it won’t matter. The game has gone gold so we have to stop complaining about the ranking system. I’m a halo 2 player as well as an halo 3 player and I’ve gotten pretty decent to high levels in them but complaining over the ranking system won’t change anything now.

Yes to a skill based ranking system. Which it will have.

No to 1-50. Which it won’t have.

The progression system is great.

I like 1-50 but it was flawed when to came to boosting/cheating.

I feel like it was not only that and it definitely was not the bragging rights that people got with it but it was that it was too accurate. Some people couldn’t stand the fact they weren’t good enough to get a 50.

1-50 can go die in a fire, that system was awful. Reach’s Arena rankings are much better, but Bungie’s poor implementation of them is why it’s failed.

No one knows what the ranking system is yet…

Game is already gold, and very close to release.
Any thing in the game YOU want changed, it’s not going to be change, end of story.
Halo 4 as far as we know has two ranking systems. One is visible progressive ranking system, and one is hidden “True” skill ranking system like Halo 2’s 1-50.

> Halo 4 NEEDS to have the 1-50 system

I can see it now…

“Step right up folks and order One Halo 4 Account and get the Another one Half Off, All for the low low price of 3 months of Xbox live gold codes! You get two level 50’s with positive K/D ratio, and I’ll even throw in a set of the Haunted and Recon Helmet for FREE!!!”

Also

“Hahaha hey guys! (A 50 talking to other 50’s) look at this pathetic noob scrub Staff Captain, and Force Colonel, And Hey look a Brigadier General too! ha-ha, oh Hey here fellas need us to help you get to 50 because you have no skills to do it on your own? HAHAHAH what losers! HA!”

Remind me again why it 100% NEEDS a 1-50?

> Remind me again why it 100% NEEDS a 1-50?

He needs a 1-50 system so that he can be a 50. He’s certain that’s what would happen.

Uh… I’ve downloaded and watched all of the videos, and have read the latest bulletin, and that is the way it is. You get to rank 50 by doing good.

You get XP for doing thing’s like Headshots and Double Kills, Which Obviously, the more you get and the more skilled you are, the faster and more you rank up.

Of course some will argue it’s not like Halo 3 where you can do amazing and rank up 4 times in XP and the next game go up against Tryhards and Lose 2 Ranks, because you get -Yoink- team mates, or take a break and come back and do -Yoink- for a game. I’ve played Halo since the beginning, Only played online since Halo 3(Flame Suit on, but I think 343I has the Rank system Set.

We’ll see when the Game ships, but If it’s like some of the recent Videos I see, it’ll be fine.

They have new Audiences to Cater to, it’s not like the Competitive Days of Halo 2/3. Millions of people Play this game and only a Fraction of them are MLG and “Pro”.

Me as a Competitive Player and Clan leader, as well as a FPS Veteran since days of Doom and some of the Other Orignals, most importantly Halo, Think that it’s gonna work. That way even the Casual Player can hit max, and it doesn’t matter about rank, MLG and so called “Pro” Players don’t go by Rank. It goes by skill.

Bottom Line is I think it’ll work

And I NEED to stop seeing this crap posted on the Halo 4 forum, but it appears I’m not getting what I want either.

Actually just because a game went gold doesn’t mean things cannot be changed. Plenty of games have made significant changes after a game was released through patches.

Reach has made changes to get rid of bloom on certain game types.

I even seen Gears of War 2 completely change their whole ranking system from a trueskill to a progressive because too many people were crying they couldn’t get highest rank, and didn’t want a ranking system that shows how bad they really are.

Even Kevin Franklin kind of hinted that if most of the community didn’t like something they could change it.

This…^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I dont understand why its so hard for casual players to get that we want something taken away/punished for losing games. Theres plenty of tangible prizes for winning games, how about something tangible for losing games. The everyone wins regardless system is severely broken. Little Timmy needs to get over not getting a prize for last place.

The OP clearly isn’t as well informed as some of us forum regulars regarding Halo 4 features, such as the existence of a ranking system. He’s a new member, so lets cut him some slack and welcome him to our humble forum abode.

Welcome to the forums, bro!

Just a few fun facts:

  1. Halo CE, arguable one of the most competitive titles, had no ranking system

  2. A skill-based rating system does not guarantee competitive gameplay.

  3. A game can be highly competitive without any sort of ranking system.

Actually it can be changed after the release multiplayer isn’t all on the disc changes like that can be done, but i doubt they care now but when the game comes out and they see how many people are already leaving and getting ready for cod which is gonna be better that halo on the competitive side cause they took all the -Yoink- from halo2 and 3 and made it better sad thing is that cods gameplay mechanics arn’t as competitive as halo huge skill gap.

In the end i just don’t understand why there couldn’t be a social and a rank playlist with most of the same game types one for competitive play for competive players who only want a rank up if they deserve it by winning the match not just for being there with a 1 to 50 true skill ranking system, -Yoink- ill be happy with a 2 game types slayer pro and mlg with there own individual 1 to 50 ranking system. 343 going to lose a bunch of halos long lasting community just so they could keep cods sells from beating there own and when its all said and done they will loose and halo 4 will be a fail in the competitive multiplayer aspect

Your ideas are so revolutionary!!!
I don’t know why people can’t understand those 3 little ideas.
