Halo 4 Ranking Solution. (no 1-50)

First of all, there should be an overall ranking system like halo 3 and reach that you can raise by playing all game modes like in reach, but multiplayer gets you more than what spartan ops or campaign would get you. No xp for playing forge, theatre or custom games. This would be gained in social and ranked.

Xp should be based around reaches Cr system, but in the form of xp, not credits. Xp should be gained as follows (numbers are just examples):

Kill = 5 xp
Assist = 3 xp
Objective = 7 xp (more or less depending on gametype)

Other medals = 1 to 10 xp depending on significance (example, the new medal called “distraction” would get you 1 xp, and something like a perfection would get you 10 xp)

Winning the game would get you around 15% extra xp bonus.

No end game jackpots.

example:

10 kills = 50 xp
1 assists = 3 xp
1 capture = 7 xp
double kill = 2 xp
killing spree = 5 xp
triple kill = 3 xp

total = 70

if that team won

15% of 70 = 10 (roughly)

10 + 70 = 80

Therefore giving winners more xp but not too much.

Now onto “Ranked”, most people are asking for 1-50 ranking, but this was only affected by winning or losing.

introducing a new system that would range from 1 - 100 would make sure you had better mach ups and would be based on the following results:

  • amount of kills
  • K/D spread
  • any substantial medals achived
  • win or loss

A formulae would be set in place to make this work well.

after playing 4 - 5 games an average is worked out and is sorted on the 1 - 100 system

This is a pretty bad idea. Trueskill does a fine job at matching players, not to mention Halo is a team game so individual stats are next to irrelevant. There’s too many factors that come into play.

Winning alone doesn’t represent your skill, it’s all about luck, and bad people could get a lucky win streak with some good players and get high up.

whats the whole point in a rank if it’s based on your team, this is why I only ever played ranked ffa.

Win as a team, lose as a team. If you want to take the randomness out search with a full party. If you don’t, you’re leaving it up to matchmaking.

I think 343’s BPR is more efficient than K/D or 1-50. It takes into account your kills, deaths, betrayals, wins, and loses, and gives you a number between 1 and 100. It’s not something you can easily boost, like a K/D, and I honestly think 1-50 is overrated. I’m not saying it shouldn’t come back, but I’m sure they could make up a better system that goes off of individual performance, not if you got a good team or not.

No, Arena tried something similar in seasons 1-6 and the playlist utterly failed.

The ranking system must be based only by win/loss. The team with the better teamwork, better set ups, better overall gameplan should win. That means there needs to be solid support slayers/objective players that would help the team out.

I am going to use MLG as an example because that is the only form of real competition Reach has.

We are going to start by comparing two teams; Instinct, and the former team Evil.

Evil Roster:

APG
Lethul
Crimsix
Twin Savior

Now if you didn’t notice already, all the above mentioned are powerful slayers. People that usually go +15-20 in a game. Yet this team disbanded when they couldn’t be a cohesive team. And if you can’t be a good team, you won’t win, therefore you deserve ABSOLUTELY nothing.

Instinct:

Roy
Lunchbox
iGoturpistola
OGRE 2

Notice, only Roy and igoturpistola are pretty much the main slayers, but they have support from OGRE 2 and Lunchbox to stand their ground, do objectives, support, and setups. This is why Instinct is the #1 team in Halo Reach, truly reminiscent of Final Boss in Halo 2 which absolutely dominated everyone.

Winners should always be rewarded, not the selfish who couldn’t care less about teamwork and still expect to be ranked up in TEAM SLAYER. Leave that run and gun mentality in FFA/Rumble Pit/Lone wolves.

no, I want 1-50 and so does 80% of the community that cares to vote
