So me and my friend were talking about how the ranking system should be and we came up with some ideas so tell me what you guys think.
- 1-50
- It uses trueskill to match players up so you get good games 45s play people close to 45 etc…
- There is a bar next to your gamertag and every win you get a peice of that bar filled. If you loose it takes a peice of that away. If you have no wins on that rank and you loose you derank unless you are a 1 and then nothing happens you dont get negative wins. Every four wins you rank up. It does not facter in who is on your team you will not rank up faster or slower if you have someone with a bad account on your team. It only uses trueskill to match players that are close to the same rank. So you should not get a 20 on your team if your a 45.
- If you want to go into a game as a team and your a 45 and your friend is a 20 it will only search for people around 45 so no trying to take a low account in to get easy wins. That should stop the boosters and derankers because it does not matter how many looses the account has and you always know what you have to do to rank up.
- Every win in any playlist social or ranked you get a exp if you win and none if you loose. You loose exp if you quit out like halo 3. So it keeps even the social games competitive because you have to win to get exp.
- You should get credits no matter if you win or loose so you can unlock new armor, weapons, etc… so it gives the social players something to strive for and the competitive players somrthing to and that is rank. If you win you get more credits so it makes people want to win more even if you dont care about rank if you want that new armor its faster to get it if you win.
- Lastly it should not show your rank in social so people will not get harassed for rank. And in ranked and custom matches you have a choice if you want to show it. Reason why is because if you want to get a good custom game going and just play high ranked people they can show the rank so you dont have 20s saying they are 50s and have bad games. And in ranked you could hind if if you want so the other team does not know how good/bad you are.

The game is literally almost finished, there is really no point in making this thread.
Although some of your ideas are good, most people are forgetting, the game comes out in a little over two months, there’s no time to make any drastic changes, like ranking.
I like 5, but hate 4. My friends are terrible at halo, and if I have them join me in matchmaking, I want the other team to reflect our team.

Yeah i know it sucks if you want to play with your friends in ranked and they suck but thats what creates boosters and derankers. people going in with low acounts to get there friend with a high account a better rank with easy wins.
Rank by wins still doesn’t prove any sort of individual skill.
Good players with bad teams still suffer while terrible players on good teams benefit.
Again with ranks? Ermahgerd perple, can’t we just play to win, play for fun and enjoy time with friends? Or is a number that represents us the paramount reason we play? Yanno, the -Yoink!-’s gave people numbers to represent them to… We all know how that turned out.
No im new i have read alot of fourms but not posted any. truthfully i can not get enough of looking at others ideas for rank/forge etc… and thanks im just thowing out some of my ideas trying to see if people like it or not.
fatal flaw, when teams are matched evenly its more a 50/50 split on win/loose so in the end no one will be able to actually rank up because every time they loose a chunk is taken away, when its evenly matched you win a game 1 minute then loose the next …

God, I remember Head to Head on Halo 3, how horrible those settings were, it was a dream for those who could exploit maps like behind the lift on Blackout.

1v1 octo style maps, minimal cover, zero bloom, Br or dmr snipes, no jet pack, sounds like a good warm up / individual skill list to me
no the only way that would happen is if lets say you are a 30 and that is your best untill you get better you will still be a 30. but when you do get better you will win more then you loose and will rank up.

never played it but 1v1 in customs always turns into who can exploit the map the most which generally is who can camp in the spot with 1 or 2 ways in the most effectively, the settings can’t prevent this sadly.

Which can be solved by using Octo style maps rather than vanilla maps, derp
lol yeah head to head sucked because of the settings i remember a time i played on the pit and a guy got one kill on me with rockets and that dam arrow popped up over my head after like 30 sec. and he walked around green and long hall the whole game. but i think the map and setting choice could help 1v1s alot.
