As we know so far the Grunts, Jackals, Elites… and in the recent achievement list the Hunters have been confirmed to appear in Halo 4. But do we expect anything else?? Such as:
-Engineers
-Drones
-Skirmishers
-Prophets
-Brutes
Note, in the achievement list you have to kill 5 crawlers with the Grav Hammer. It’s odd to have a Grav Hammer, if there’s no Brutes??? Right?
Prophets are unlikely aswell as Skirmishers. But any idea on the other Covenant species??

I see, I was unfamiliar about that. It’s odd that the Gravity Hammer is of Jiralhanae Technology yet there not coming back. Shame. Sound like the Halo: CE species are the only ones coming back
-Prophets: In hiding after the Great Schism event. Many died during the Flood on High Charity. Has 3rd extinction now as a result of the Great Schism. No homeworld. Possibly Brutes aiding them hiding out. Unknown where they are in the galaxy after High Charity was taken by the Flood and they escaped. There’s not many Prophets left.
-Brutes: Facing the wrath of the Elites and their own kind. Facing their own extinction as well with no authority over the species. The Return has stated this. Great Schism going and many serve the Covenant. Ally or foe they are still a threat. Those that are smart enough to stay with their Elite commanders will survive their species’ civil war.
-Drones: Unknown possibly allied with the Brutes still.
-Engineers: Unknown possibly allied with Elites and Brutes. Knowing the species they love to mess around with technology and take it apart and put it back together. Docile species. Prefers not to be slaves to Covenant. Those that are allied with Brutes face fate and death during the difficult Great Schism.
-Skirmishers: Wiped out during Reach. Won’t see a return of the Skirmishers. Skirmishers on Reach were the best warriors. All the Skirmisher warriors are wiped out during Reach.

I can’t stand the buggers.
Covenant that probably WILL return:
Drones
Brutes
Covenant that will NEVER return:
Skirmishers(wiped out during Reach)
Prophets(in hiding not many are left after the Flood invaded High Charity)
I think Frankie confirmed brutes are not going to be enemy in the game, like, you won’t have to fight them. But I think he also said that they may be mentioned in the campaign.

ahh…I forgot about the bugs…I hope we never see them again…ever…
With Frankie’s confirmation of Brutes being out, I think it became clear that 343 wanted to return to the basics: Elites, Grunts, Jackals, and Hunters. Those four really make up the core of the Covenant anyway, particularly when it comes to gameplay. Combine it with the Prometheans, and everything gets turned up a notch. That being said, I’d be very surprised if we don’t end up seeing Prophets, Brutes, Drones, and Engineers later on in the trilogy at some point (though not necessarily as in-game enemies).
In the wake of the end of the Human-Covenant war, any Covenant still trying to fight the good fight (aka our foes in the H4) are probably trying to scrounge up any weapons available. Maybe if the elites in this new “Storm Covenant,” as I’ve seen them called around the forum, are not so honor filled that they actually use the Grav Hammer

I thought the official description for the fate of the Prophets was that they mysteriously vanished after the war. Leaving the rest of the covenant behind.
> I thought the official description for the fate of the Prophets was that they mysteriously vanished after the war. Leaving the rest of the covenant behind.
They vanished meaning they are in ‘hiding’ because of the Sangheili’s wrath of betrayal and they faced another 3rd extinction because of the Flood. High Charity was their only homeworld. With it gone they are out in the galaxy on Covenant ships possibly aided by Loyalists, to hide. We don’t know where they are all we know is they are hiding for only those two reasons. The Prophets have no where to go but on ships and find a new home somehow with help of Loyalists. Many Sangheili ship masters that had Prophets aboard were executed by the ship masters because the Elites felt betrayed by them. Both Brutes and Prophets are being hunted down by the Sangheili. Like Thel said in Halo 3 ‘All those who serve the Prophets shall be punished.’ This means anyone who serve under the Prophets will be hunted down. Its possible that the Sangheili as well will head into a civil war because of the Storm Covenant and Servants of Abiding Truth go with the Covenant religion the Prophets cooped up as a lie for generations.
So basically, only two races are in a civil war: Sangheili & Jiralahne.
Well… in glasslands the Sangheili & Jiralahne were working together even though they didn’t really trust each other the Jiralahne were doing work like driving ships and loading and unloading them. Without giving up to much, but the jackels wheren’t working with either. so im assuming the covenant we see are ones maybe picked up like the chief but just trying to find the “U NO WHO” on the planet

That’s only SOME Brutes. Not all. Only a few with enough brains in their head will survive their species going into civil war. This doesn’t count for ALOT of the Brute species. The Brutes have been in civil war way before they allied with the Covenant. The only reason the Brutes were peaceful when the Covenant came is because they switch religions alot. They first worshiped totem poles, then it was Covenant which worships Forerunners. That Brute and his crew were the small majority that lived and died during the Great Schism, however, many many Brutes still are fighting the Sangheili and serve the Prophets. The end result for the Brutes though is a long civil war with each other. It happened before in their history, it will happen again.
