Halo 4 - Proof it's Multiplayer Failed

Here is Halo 4’s population chart. It’s been over 5 months since Halo 4 launched and the population has already plummeted to below 40k total players per day. That is pathetic. There were more people playing Social Slayer on Halo 3 years after that game launched and that’s 1 playlist.

Here is Halo Reach’s population chart, this was based on the month of June - 2011. This was 10 months after Halo Reach launched, that’s 5 month’s more than Halo 4 currently and it still was able to maintain over 600,000+ even almost reaching 800,000 people. I should also add in Reach was up against Modern Warfare 2, easily the most popular CoD to date.

Let’s face it 343i, you tried to incorporate all these casual elements to attract new players (CoD players) to your game, but guess what, it failed. Let’s hope for Halo 5 you will actually listen to the community.

What do you benefit from making this thread?
I don’t care what some chart says, I’ll still play halo 4 until halo 5 comes out. And I will welcome it with open arms, just like I did halo 4.

I love this game, I don’t care what anybody says.
If you need some charts to say that this game is “good” then friend, you are playing video games for the wrong reason.

Wow so sad for Halo 4, but it is obvious. This game is so random and frustrating that feels like im playing Team Fiesta on every playlist.

Couldn’t of said it better. If the players like the game, then it is not a fail. So, Ohlmay, go tell the supposed below “40k total members” that this was a fail. I’m sure you will be proven wrong.

Well, to be fair, that is unique users over a 24 hour period and it covers the time over the start of summer break for both university and high school students. However, I do agree that the alarmingly rapid population decline being very bad news for Halo 4 (not to mention, we’re losing to MW3). 343i desperately needs to learn from their mistakes.

P.S It also seems Gears of War: Judgement is a major bust at the moment as well.

Halo 4 isn’t a bad game, it’s a good game, but for Halo standards, it’s below average. I made this thread so 343i know that the multi-player for Halo 4 failed, I’d hate to see 343i make the same mistakes they made for Halo 4 and incorporated into Halo 5. If no-one said anything negative about Halo 4, then nothing would change. I’m sorry but when your population is below 40k, obviously something is wrong and non-appealing about it. I want Halo to return to the glory days, if you want Halo to turn into CoD, then keeping supporting 343i.

Very true, if no one complained or suggested the game would keep dying even faster.

You seem to forget about the hundreds of thousands of people that stopped playing this game, and Halo in general, because they think it was a failure and soiled the franchise.

This negative thinking is what is ruining the game, nobody on here cares about COD numbers. We are a Halo community and we need to show the support, yes mistakes were made but 343i have learned their lesson. It was their first game, they need to be given a break. It was a great attempt and when Halo 5 is released it will be amazing (hopefully), they will fix everything that was wrong with 4(which isn’t much) and the community will rejoice.

But for know you don’t need to worry about COD, Keep playing War games and show support for 343I and the franchise we love.

WE DON’T NEED ANOTHER POPULATION THREAD THERE IS ENOUGH

What he meant was that he loves the game and a population chart is not going to affect him loving the game. That is what he meant.

I’m level 126 on Halo 4, trust me I support the game, even though Halo 4 is the worst of the series, I still enjoy it because it’s Halo. I want Halo to return as king, back in 2004 - 2008 when Halo 2 and 3 dominated population numbers.

The same exact thinking in my mind.

and after all those ads they’ve been shoving down our throats

I Do agree with you on this, would be nice. Match Making would be so much easier

You’re being super melodramatic. Halo won’t turn into “COD” oh my god.
The day that 343 allows us to spawn in slayer with rocket launchers, spartan lasers, energy swords, sniper rifles, saws, and incineration cannons, then maybe ill agree with you that halo is turning into “COD” all of a sudden.

Sprint, ordinances, and Loadouts don’t make a game “COD”.

Lately I’ve realized that they weren’t trying to make it a ‘‘noob’’ game. They were trying to make it their own game and differentiate themselves from Bungie and the end result was a game that felt like a noob/CoD game and didn’t feel like Halo. Players buy certain games because they feel a certain way. People play CoD because it’s CoD and people play Halo because it’s Halo. That’s why Halo 4 failed.

Of course the game will never turn into CoD, I was exaggerating. But the addition of loudouts, perks, sprints, AA’s, flinch, JIP, Instant respawning is proof that 343i are looking at games like CoD and modern shooters to appeal to the mass, casual and non-Halo players.

Yes, opinions. And 99% of Halo fans think it’s a terrible Halo game. How is that not failure?

However, the problem with Halo and other beloved franchises turning into CoD is (in my opinion) the direct fault of the consumers. As more and more people keep buying CoD and supporting those games to become a major success (#1), the more other game developers think it is a great idea to integrate some of their features.
