good news, the bulletin contains information on how the progression system will be working in halo 4!
just about to start giving it a read myself.
edit:
done reading, was exactly what i was expecting, not to pleased to see that we start off with the AR but i hope the alternative loadouts they offer have a precision weapon in them.
overall i would like to see something that rewards more for skill, they did say skilled players will progress quicker via winning how ever winning doesn’t mean it was from being skilled, it could be a bad player getting carried and such, if true skill does work then that also poses a problem for the statement because people would be matched up evenly so even if they are skilled they won’t be able to progress as quick as other people because they’re loosing a bit less then they win, if it sucks like in reach then i expect the skilled players to stomp there way through.
what i would like to see is something that utlized true skill to give an extra bonus based on there skill level, that would be rewarding skill a lot better in my opinion, it wouldn’t be giving a bonus based on winning which how ever is nice, its giving a bonus based on how well you perform at the game as a whole and not in individual games which is why i think it would be better for rewarding skill.
yay, unlocking gameplay elements through a progression system, something I’ve hated in every game I’ve ever played, but I haven’t played H4 yet so I guess I can’t complain.
Kept scrolling, looking for the thing that would scratch my Sangheili itch. Alas, it was not there, but perhaps it’s one of the unlocks at SR-130. I’m liking the system from what I read, though.
The progressive system is ok, ‘How quickly you progress through your career will partly depend on your skill. Skilled players will rank up faster, as you get more XP for winning matches. It’s also worth noting that quitters do not get game completion XP. They can progress commendations and challenges, but they will not get partial XP at the end of the game (AHEM).’

The infinity is just really big, not as big as a covie super carrier though.
I…am pleased with what I read. It looks like they took the Reach system and improved upon it in terms of ways to play. How this will effect out chances at a skill-ranking system is beyond me. But for the fun of it. I am happy with what I heard. Such as multiple challenges for each mode instead of 4 random selects. 120 challenges over Reach’s amount of around two dozen. It almost even reminds me of BL2’s Badass system.

For the most part, the Recruit armor = the ODST armor.
so a blue visor? Just kind of making it more obvious.

The ODST visor always came across as more of a dim silver, if that makes sense. It only seemed blue in Halo 3:ODST when you used VISR mode, and even then, it was more of an “ice” color.
I really do not like how you don’t even start an AA or a single perk. Looks like Classic Playlist will be my first stop in MP, considering I won’t start Halo 4 until I get home on Tuesday. I don’t want to get my -Yoink- handed to me by players who already have superior weaponry.

Who know else will be able to level up quickly? People who eat Doritos and drink Mountain Dew. I just love it when a game lets players buy their way to the top.

You get EXP from other things too you know. Like commendations and playing spartan Ops.
Or you could even play the new flood mode where all loadouts are based on gametype, that’s what my plan it.
Never really understood the idea behind the progression system. Seems like it would turn new players off to give all the long time players better equipment, perks, and support.
Pretty much the opposite of training wheels. They shouldn’t make it hard for new players.

I just feel like thanks to this progression system, I’ll end up abandoning War Games almost completely.

lack of info does not mean it doesn’t exist. I’m upset they haven’t said anything about it yet, but if they came out and said there won’t be a skill based ranking system, I would CANCEL MY PREORDER. Then order 5 more and CANCEL THEM TOO. Then I would come on the forums and tell all you guys about it, and how it makes me feel

You know each map has default loadouts right? You won’t have to use the AR if you don’t want to.
