Halo 4 Preorder Armor as DLC

Hey everybody, I am aware that there are topics already made about this question but I feel like we need to get 343i attention to this question as it has not been answered. I myself want a DLC for the preorder armor since I don’t have any (except I should have received the Hazop Forest Skin with Arctic Battle Rifle Skin but EB Games failed to give me the code) and would like to see it released for purchase. The only other way to get this armor at the moment is to buy the Halo 4 Game of the Year edition, which I do not want to do seeing as I already own the game and don’t need another copy and all I want is the preorder armor, everything else that comes with the GotY edition I either already have or don’t care about (avatar stuff for example, I could care less for it). I want an answer from 343i about whether or not it will be a dlc in the future, a yes-or-no answer, rather than hearing that it may be. It has been over a year since Halo 4’s release and we have a right to know if this will happen or not, I am tired of waiting around to hear something that might never be answered. So I ask 343, will you release the preorder armor as a separate DLC? Or at least have another way to unlock it other than buying the GotY edition?

What are your opinions on this? (and please lets avoid negative comments if possible, I want 343 to hear about this and not to think we are just haters for I personally love Halo 4)

> It has been over a year since Halo 4’s release and <mark>we have a right to know if this will happen or not</mark>

No we don’t.

I’d like to know just like anyone else, but entitlement doesn’t get anyone anywhere.

What I meant by that was that they have hinted at the idea but have not actually come out and gave us an answer. I do not believe I am entitled to know but I feel like it is time for 343 to come out and give us an answer, especially considering that they are done with the game DLC wise for the most part and there isn’t gonna be much new to the game other than rotating gametypes. Do you not feel as though 343 needs to do something to get their game population up? This would be one way, it may not be the best way, but is one way. Unfortunately there are other games coming out which means more people might be moving on from Halo 4 to these new games, and this is fine, but 343 needs an incentive to convince players to come back to Halo 4 every so often.

They did give an answer. its called the Game of the Year edition. 343 never said that the pre order stuff would definitely be released on the marketplace, just that it would be made available to everyone. Which they have done with the GotY edition, since everyone has the opportunity to buy it.

Yes that is one way. I am currently trying to find the article I read awhile back which was from 343i, it may have been bs angel but I don’t recall, anyways they talked about other ways completionists could get their hands on all the armor, and that the GotY was just one way for now of obtaining it. They hinted that their may be another way for people like myself to get out hands on the preorder armor. Since I pretty much have all of the content that the GotY edition holds, it seems kinda pointless for me and any who are similar to my situation, to spend $40 for a game I already own just for the armor which is not worth much on its own. That said, im hoping that 343 does infact have another way of getting this armor, such as an individual DLC, for anybody who just want the armor and nothing else. So hopefully 343i will give us a definite answer sometime as to whether or not there will be another way of obtaining the armor, that is all I want to know.

As far as I’m aware, when everyone was clamoring for the preorder bonuses to be made available, all 343 said was that they were looking into it as a possibility. That possibility is a reality by way of the GOTY edition. I don’t recall them ever saying anything about putting things up on the marketplace and such.

Besides, with what people are charging on ebay for any DLC, it would be better to get GotY, if you really want your pre-order stuff.

> Besides, with what people are charging on ebay for any DLC, it would be better to get GotY, if you really want your pre-order stuff.

I’ve seen some people sell all the DLC for 30$, it’s just hard to come across that good of a deal.

> We’ve seen some questions regarding the availability of pre-order content, and we’re still looking at different ways, which includes the Game of the Year Edition, to make the content available for completionists.

343i has a habit of announcing plans to look into something instead of plans to do something. Some people say they want this, and I don’t understand it. I don’t want them to tell or even hint at things unless it’s set in stone that it will happen somehow. I would, however, like 343i to give more detail on the things that are set in stone. For examples, we had very little information about Champion’s Bundle content integration in Halo 4 before launch. Spartan Assault is due to launch on the Xbox 360 and One next month, and we still have a lot of simple questions (meaning not requiring top-secret answers) that have gone unanswered. More information = good marketing, like what Microsoft has done by talking about how Xbox One handles multiplayer. I want more content like that from 343i.

To be short, in my opinion, 343i has been transparent with us, but about the wrong things.

> Besides, with what people are charging on ebay for any DLC, it would be better to get GotY, if you really want your pre-order stuff.

I just wish that the codes were separate. In the GOTY edition, they bundled all the armor skins all together. I wanted to pick up the last few skins I didn’t have, and then throw a massive giveaway.

Unfortunately that is not possible as to how the codes were handled.

I agree with you Vektor0, I do not want to be hinted at the possibility of something that isn’t set in stone. This is exactly why I want a yes or no answer to this question from 343i so that we can put this issue to rest. Its either they are making others way to obtain the armor or they aren’t, I do not understand why 343 can’t just come out and give us a proper answer, rather than saying maybe. Also Vektor0 I would also agree with you that 343 is being very transparent with us about the wrong things. I would also have to thank you for finding that quote from the article I was referring to, appreciate it.

Once again, they did. It’s called the GOTY edition. That IS the answer, whether you choose to accept it or not.

Sometimes not getting an answer IS your answer. It may not be the one you wanted however that’s how it goes sometimes.

I’m going to sound selfish for this but I hope 343 never makes pre order armor DLC. It wouldn’t be special anymore. It’s bad enough that it’s all in the GotY edition.

I see what you are saying snickerdoodle and it does make sense. And I understand that the Game of the Year edition may in fact be the only way to get the armor, I just dislike the idea that they hinted at the idea of other ways even if they now no longer have any intentions. Just the fact that they hinted at it earlier got me pretty excited but now I am believing they won’t. I just dislike it when anyone other than just companies for video games hint towards something only to not follow up on it or at least let the public know it won’t happen now. And as you said snickerdoodle the fact that they haven’t said anything may in fact be their way of saying “no we have no intentions of making the preorder armor available in any other way other that the GotY edition” and I can understand this but I just wish a company would just come out and say this outright rather than taking the other said approach

I think what they actually said was something along the lines of the pre order bonuses possibly being made available at a later time (not quoted as I don’t know the exact way it was said). Before the GotY was announced, 343 never hinted that the pre order bonuses would be made available in more than one way, just that they may be released later on. It has never been officially stated that the pre order bonuses would definitely be made available on the marketplace or any other way, again only that they might possibly release it. The GotY edition of Halo 4 is the method they decided to go with to release all pre order bonuses to the general public.

Like it or not, the GotY edition is the only way that has officially been stated they would be available, regardless of what some people think they may or may not have read/heard. Until 343 officially state that it the pre order bonuses will be released via another method, the GotY edition is the only way to obtain them (other than eBay).

Does GotY edition give you ALL pre order armors? like venator skins, fotus, gungnir skins, CIO skins, Locus, Oceanic skin, etc?

I doubt 343 will release the DLC separately, however, since you want the Pre-Order contents, go to my Scavenger Hunt thread below my Signature on Thanksgiving. I will be releasing the Pre-Order Content code I got from the GOTY. (I’ve got two, but I already have all armors).

> Does GotY edition give you ALL pre order armors? like venator skins, <mark>fotus</mark>, gungnir skins, CIO skins, Locus, Oceanic skin, etc?

FOTUS, is the ONLY armor set NOT included in the GOTY edition. TBH, i’m glad 343 did that. For the rest of the pre-orders, they are included. Here is the list of armors and weapon skins. All emblems are available as well.

Armors:
Recruit PRIME
Oceanic CIRCUIT
Hazop FOREST
Venator RAPTOR
Gungnir PULSE
C.I.O. WEB
Deadeye
Locus

Weapons:
Battle Rifle ARCTIC
Assault Rifle PRIME
Light Rifle IMPRINT
