halo 4 pre-order codes linked to 1 acount?

I pre-ordered the limited edition of halo 4 and it came with early access to the remaining 6 specializations, avatar items and in game armour skins. I was quite pleased with this pack until I redeemed the codes only to find that only one of my accouns and none of my family members accounts (we are on a family pack membership with 5 accounts) had access to the content, including the specializations.
In halo reach, AVP, Mass Effect 3 and Gears of War 3 to name a few, you could use the pre-order codes on any account as long as the accounts were on the first console the code was redeemed on.

This is just unffair. What about other family gamers comprised of 4 or more members, how does one decide who gets the codes and who does not, especially the early specializations?
Please does anyone know how to make this content available to all members on the first console the content was used on, the way it used to be?

I have already tried xbox customer support but they checked and it seems the problem lies with the usage rights set on the content by the developers and so is outside their jurisdiction.

I have the same problem, i preordered limited edition and Halo 4’s console and got same issue. No Fotus/recruit prime armor on console where i donwloaded it, no artic BR, no Hazop FRST,… i don’t know why this happen but maybe 343i must take a look a this.

I do not have that problem, MY problem is that when I download that same account to my other house (divorce) only one Xbox has it

My downloaded to my xbox. Not my XBL account. I was quite displeased.

Do you mean that your items are not on any other console, even when you re-downloaded the codes from your download history on the new console?

I assume you mean that you could use your codes only on the xbox that you first downloaded them on? Did you try going to download history on the new console and re-downloading them?

I was able to contact Xbox live Customer Support and found out that these codes were made “profile Limited” not “Console Limited” by 343 meaning that only the first profile that downloaded the codes would have access to them.

I see no reason for this other than to force people to buy multiple copies of the game in order to satisfy all family members involved. I see this as an underhanded strategy by 343 to make more money and it also deprives people of having access to a limited number of copies, even if they have the money to buy it. For example, in the past a family of 5 would have had to buy just one game and been able to use all bonuses for that game together on the same console, there would then be more copies total available for purchase. Now a family of 5 needs to buy 5 copies of this game if they want to ensure that all members have equal access to the bonuses, which means that there a 5 less limited editions of this game available for every family of 5 that chooses to do this. One other approach could simply be for families with many members to simply buy 1 copy of the normal edition and share it but this means they lose out on all the bonuses they could have had.
I truly hope that this does not become the norm for game companies.
