Got on both Halo 4 and Reach tonight and was shocked to find that Halo 4’s population online was 1/2 of what Reach’s was. Now I am aware of the significant population drop since the first few months after launch but I wouldn’t have expected this. Can someone explain why more people are reverting to Reach rather than play Halo 4? Do people really hate it that much?
There are 2 h4 populations, and the xbone’s might be bigger. There’s only 1 Reach pop.
Yup, a lot of H4 people went to MCC, especially for the H5 beta. I expect to see a lot of them drift back over the next few weeks when they realize a) the beta is over, and b) H4 on xbone looks better than on 360, though not much better, but plays differently without loadouts. And if you don’t want loadouts then you’ll just stay with MCC and play H2/3.

I didn’t have any, and assumed I had to “earn” them all over again as with the original. But I’ve been given to understand by others that they’re just not there at all. A match starts and you have five load outs to choose from, all exactly the same: AR, pistol, frags, no AAs. I went right back to my trusty old 360. Halo 4 - AAs = Halo 3, or close enough as makes no difference. And Halo 3 was fine in the day, but I’ve moved on. Don’t need to re-live the past. (Then why the heck did you buy MCC in the first place, you might ask? Still puzzling that one out myself…)

Another possibility is because Halo Reach was free with gold a few months ago.

Which is ironic as a) Reach is often lumped in with H4 as a non-Halo Halo, at least by the 2/3 fanatics, b) a good chunk of Bungie employees left Bungie to continue working on Halo at 343, and c) if they really thought Bungie was so fanfriggintastic then why aren’t they all playing Destiny? Oh right, they did for about two months until they realized it wasn’t a) Halo, or b) any good.

You probably bought it because it’s a Halo game. Which is why I’ll eventually but it too. I can’t blame you for that lol.

Apparently it’s the better game where most of halo reaches stuff is in halo 4 armour abilities started in reach sprint started in reach yet halo 4 is still considered a “Non-Halo” game just because 343i made it i personally prefer halo 4 much more to reach i only play reach for the campaign or a few rounds of firefight before i get bored of it (Cause lets be honest firefight is the exact same thing every game)
As this is my first venture into online gaming, I can’t pretend to be an expert on the merits or otherwise of Halo 4. However I have to say I find it quite enjoyable, with a few exceptions. Firstly, why do some people find the need to send insulting messages after a game? Also why do teammates try to betray you? You jump into the mantis etc, and they follow behind you shooting and throwing grenades at you. It reminds me of one of those annoying yappy little dogs that try to mount your leg.
I can only assume this is normal behaviour for xbl.

Most of those people are 12 year old kids thinking there tough and everything revolves around them or there late teen or adults who act like kids who need to grow up, thats how i see it. and the insulting messages there called bad sports.

Not sure if your reply is directed at me or not. If so, could you elaborate so I know if I should be offended.
Reply is for you. You always get angry messages if you play realy well and destroy opposite teams or you suck badly. For me the most annoying thing is people who betray when i m cappinga flag.

No i think it’s just the bad sports, who don’t understand that we r different people and we have a mind and the right to do things our way, what i love the most is good sports who would say gg after a match especially a tough match.
