How big exactly is Halo 4’s population? How many players does it have on a normal day? Is the population Bigger than Reach’s?
On a typical weekend night you’re getting around 2000 in BTB, 1200 or so in TS, and well under a thousand in the other playlists. Not huge, but enough to get decent search times and not too many mis-matches. The up-side to low population is that most of the try-hards and MLG wannabes are gone so it’s a pretty relaxed atmosphere. No grinding. Don’t know how this compares to Reach or MCC.

More then 4 hundred less then 2 trillion.
I see it bottom out around 800 total players in the middle of the night PST, and reach 6-8k at peak every night. Some weekends it hits 10k at primetime.
As an earlier poster said, it’s not a big deal. Pretty easy to find games at most times of day and they’re mostly lag free.
