Halo 4 population sits at a whopping 13,000

Someone get me a pop tracker for Reach and Halo 3. This is the worst that Halo has ever done, regardless of new titles coming out. Reach had to compete with 2 CoD titles, BF3, and Skyrim and it still retained 100,000+ players for 2 years. Halo 4 has only got Blops II and GTA V as it’s main threats right now, and it can’t retain 20,000 players.

Sorry to break the bad news, but I don’t know where we’re headed as a community. 343, I appreciate the new life you’re trying to instill into this game, but it is really dead. My advice is to take a more traditional approach with Halo 5, add our Halo 2/3 truskill ranks, give us our social ranks, have Infinity take a backseat, and make sure sprint is contained or doesn’t make it.

Thanks for anybody who had the patients to read my rant. I just have so much anger and confusion in me right now. I grew up with this series as a kid, and it pains me to see it die a slow painful death.

As pathetic as that is, saying “only Blops II and GTA V” isn’t really fair. GTA V has been a highly anticipated game for years. And Blops II is well…yea

Here’s a question for you, so? You’re not expecting to personally run through all those 13,000 player any time today are you? There’s certainly something to be concerned about matchmaking quality for low population playlists but even if we had to cut down the spice and stick to multiplayer basics (like any other normal game that doesn’t have the of luxury of a cult behind it) you would still be able to enjoy Halo 4 in that limited capacity. And despite these low numbers the sales and critical opinion of Halo 4 were good so you can’t possibly be worried about the chances of them making Halo 5 or even 6 either. They will surely be made even if this population completely bombed.

So what could you be worried about? Well one answer that seems readily apparent to me is simply this, it’s not popular anymore and so again I ask you, so what?

It also isn’t peak hours. By like 11:00 est it will likely sit at 30,000. It did last week. This is also the population for multiplayer, not the full game. Halo reach and halo 3 showed the population of every mode, even idling. While I won’t deny halo 4 has a low population, it’s not as low as some might believe.

It’s been 16-17k this last week. I doubt it will go much higher again.

COD won’t last forever.

Halo has a TV Show coming, by Spielberg mind you.

Halo is far from over.
