http://halocharts.com/2012/chart/dailypeakpopulation/all Is this proof that Halo 4 is dying?
That’s just the peak from midnight. Actual peak is closer to 10pm ish so wait till then.
When the game truely peaks below 100,000… I will lol.
Is Halo 4 dying? I hope not.
As long as there’s 7 more players playing the game, the game won’t be dead for me.
No, if you want to see a dying game play Crysis 2 or Quake Live. Halo 4 isn’t even CLOSE!
Thats # of players on at any given time. Not # of unique players that sign into halo 4 each day. Halo 4 is still in the top 3 for most active games on xbox live.

Which means exactly nothing considering Blops 2 would have 4 to 5 times the “unique users” Halo 4 has.

call of duty is and will always be more popular. That doesn’t determine a games quality. My post proves that halo 4 isn’t a bad game dispite peoples claims. All the “low population” shows is that arena shooters are not king anymore.
When I can put in FEAR 2 and still find a game to play lets me know that the second most played game on X-Box Live will be safe for awhile, well, unless the Mayans are right, then I guess it will be safe for the next couple of days at least. If the Mayans are wrong, I am sure I will still have no problem finding a game on the 22nd.

Halo 4 isn’t even an arena shooter anymore. Which is why the game is dying. 343 needs to return to Halo’s roots.

CoD wouldn’t be more popular if Halo didn’t change. But oh that’s right, the game NEEDS to change or people will totally stop playing!

It still has elements. And no. If going back to the roots would “solve everything” then halo 3 would still atleast be in the top 5 in most active games on xbl. The main reasons why halo 4 is still in the top 3 is because 1) its a halo game and 2) its a bit more casual appealing to players that prefer more of a laid back shooter.

Old games are never going to have high populations, especially if said game has a sequel(2 in this case). And for your “a bit more casual” statement; lol, just…lol.
sick of all the forums crying about the pop. if you like the game then play it if you don’t then go away

COD is popular because its casual. Its easy for bad players to do good. How ever you want to put it. Halo has had sagnificant change through out the series. But yes halo. and any game really that plans to last long needs to evolve to the current market. If all halo needed to do was stay the exact same halo 3 would still be one of the top 5 in most played games on xbox.
Back then the gaming industry (as far as online play goes) was not as big. People had different tastes. And arena shooters were the flavor. Now the market wants more laid back “casual games” But the beauty of halo is you can make your own experience. Your own maps. Regardless of how matchmaking is streamlined. Thats something no other shooter on xbox can offer.
People, please. All these population threads serve only one purpose: flamebait.
We know it and the OP’s know it.

Read my previous comment regarding your absurd population comment, as for the market back then, Halo 3 had to compete against COD4 and gears of war, yet it held a much higher population a year after release. This game is dying and you know it.

A games age has nothing to do with its quality. By keeping everything and not evolving. If thats what halo 4 did you would be pushing out an old game. And it would still have the same results as halo 3 does now. New graphics and a few new things would not sell a halo game dispite what you think.
And yes halo 4 MP wise is more casual then 2 and 3 (not more then reach IMO) casual shooters are what drive the market currently.

I just got done replying to you. Don’t be so impatient. The market back then had different tastes. If you could actually read what i had posted instead of mindlessly quoting. Also gears of war is an arena shooter. And it isn’t popular anymore either.
