Halo 4 point system not fair or balanced..

MOST of us playing this game aren’t dumb - 343 ( or whoever they answer to ) has made a point system that hides how good(or) bad players are. In essence who gets rewarded ? No one. Where is the MVP ? The game is still the same in this sense - THE TEAM THAT HAS THE BEST KD ALWAYS IS THE TEAM WITH THE MOST POINTS - and of course this team wins ( This excludes objective games ). So a guy kills 20 times gets 200 points ( problem is he dies 25 times and GOES NEGATIVE 5 - and loses the game for the team ! ) Then his teammate Joe-Smo who only got 160 points ( 40 less points ) went 16 kills and ZERO DEATHS… JOE-SMO IS THE GAMES unknown and unrewarded MVP !! JOE-SMO is the one most responsible for almost winning the game then the guy who has more points !!! HAHAHAHAHAH

H3 had an online population of 500k players at almost any given time in its heyday… and nearly a million at any given time during its prime…

Reach’s lack of a 1-50 skill rank caused a lot of people to quit playing… The ones who remained played Social playlist mostly… Reach’s online community seemed to be over 100k at most times…

H4’s slayer is pretty much social slayer… The ranking system only shows mostly how much you play… play more… move up quicker… ( yeah I know Mt Dew points )… but now we’re waiting for Competive Skill Rank… now Im seeing numbers at times below 90k online !!

So how about tweaking the point scale some 343?? How about deducting even 2 FREAKIng points for each death ? Its not going to slow down the game is you remove a couple point for each death… The problem is a guy that gets 20 kills, 2 assist, and dies 25 times doesn’t deserve to have the same score as a guy that gets 20 kills, 2 assist, and dies once !! Yet it happens often… or a scenario very close… in which a guy who goes 16 kill and ZERO deaths scores under a guy who gets more kills and is actually not a good player…

343 you tried to hide it… Why are you trying to turn a competitive game into a casual game ? You’re ruining the online community and you need to fix Forge as well… but why are you trying to reward those who don’t play as well… and hinder those who want to show they play well ? All you’re doing is continuing to alienate what the majority of people wish… right now 343 you’re new with us… pls listen

No kidding. I also hate the cap per game at 2981. There is NO reward good playing. People playing get a medal for everything, literally, I have games where I have close to 100 medals. I dont even bother checking medals. Punish bad behavior. Now I know some people arent good, and thats fine, and some people play just for fun’s sake, also fine, but put them a different Social type playlist for the love of god!

I hate the new scoring system.

BRING BACK THE NORMAL 1-50 SCORING SYSTEM!

> H3 had an online population of 500k players at almost any given time in its heyday… and nearly a million at any given time during its prime…

nope

Victory of the team is what matters.

This systems rewards teamwork, as intended.

There is nothing in Halo 4 that rewards teamwork. You are only rewarded for your individual skill.

this is the flaw, i liked playing halo 2. I liked playing team hardcore. I only played team hardcore when i played with my friend. Otherwise, i played big team.

play team hardcore solo, you get random tards that make your rank go down, and they cant use team work, communication or their skill is alot lower then it should be for your level. People would set up teams of 4 the play team hardcore. And then, they would literally just be communicating and being a GOOD team, all the time.

Oh, do you think you could get that lucky with just random dudes all the time? hardly.

I had fun in btb, i got to do whatever i wanted. I could practice super bouncing, or just run around with a brute shot and be mildly annoying. Or use needlers to confuse people.

The ranked playlists were a real turn off for me. I couldnt have fun if i wanted just to play by my self. Or if i could only play by my self.

Btb being social made it less frantic. less “try-hard”. A decent blend would be great. Maybe a play list like team love wolves. Where you go in solo and get a team of 4.

oh, thats why assists help you get ordnance drops.

All we need is a ranked slayer playlist. That’s it. And we need it yesterday.

Thats fine you didnt like ranked. Make rank and social. I know you didnt like to play Team Hardcore ranked because IT IS hard to play solo and win. However, the name says it all. Hardcore. This is for competitive players and most of these people want rank. I would love for there to be a rank and social version however.

See you like the fact that there isnt rank. Okay, imagine if every playlist was ranked, would you be happy? I loved playing social with my friends who were awful or if I didnt feel like playing a tense game of ranked slayer. I would be pissed if there was no social playlist.

You said you didnt like rank because you lost alot due to the fact that you played alone. I have the same problem now! haha.

Yeah, they help YOU get a weapon. Nobody runs around trying to help teammates so they can get an ordinance. They try to get ordinance by getting kills for themselves. Personal ordinance does not encourage teamwork.

The ultimate thing that encouraged teamwork was ranks.

Hey, who here remembers when Halo 2 had almost every person with a headset, which costed $20 or so to get. Then Halo 3 had a very chatty crowd (remember when that mute button feature was introduced, i squealed).

Then Halo Reach came out and it was a ghost town. Felt like I wasn’t playing real people. All my friends started playing other games and I never felt so alone as I did when playing Reach. Every xbox came with a mic. This wasnt Halo 2 where you had to run to town and buy one, you have one laying right beside you. Halo 4 has less people with mics everyday.

Hmmm… this is a toughy. Halo 2/3 had ranks, Reach/4 didnt… maybe a connection somehow… or I am just completely nuts!?

Yeah there are plenty of references even old threads at Bungie… when the mythic playlist came out you were logging on to see 400k+ people on typically at most times… lets not forget Halo 3 sold nearly 13 million copies… so this number is realistic when you consider Reach sold 9 million… Halo 4 has sold very well so far… 7.4 million in 7 weeks… but in order to keep online play alive - things need to be fixed

Nice, but back then we all had a choice… most of us played rank for a reason… social list were always ‘light’ compared to ranked games… but many of us played rank and played social when we wanted to take it easy… If we at least had the ranked system back openly ( not hiding it in waypoint as they intend ) and had ranked and social list it would make sense… then people could choose… If you don’t want ranked… fine go play Social…

The whole reason “ranked” failed in REACH s because no one cared for the “medal” system… Its not because people didn’t want the ranked system… they just didn’t like that system ! They wanted the numbers…

You make a good point - In older Halo’s people cared about ranking up … since you had to play as a team - YOU HAD TO TALK ! WOW ! 343 are you listening ?

The people against ranked playlists are so selfish. Why can’t we make both groups happy by having ranked and non ranked playlists?

Just posted this above… but people were happy with the number system… until Bungie dropped it to get rid of the selling of 50 accounts and curb cheaters… unfortunately none of us cared for the “medal” ranking system…

haha you are quoting me as saying that lol. That part where im quoted is a broken quote link. I was quoting someone and responding to it, not actually saying it. Im very much in favor of ranks. GIVE ME RANKS OR GIVE ME DEATH.

Let me say… 343 did a good job on the game overall… better then REACH ! But if 343 wants the game to go back to EPIC - they need to do this Competitive ranking system correctly on release - Why hide a persons skill rank in WAYPOINT ? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME !!! If you’re BEAST enough to kill someone in a game ( yes we know its a game ) then I think a person can man up enough to see their in game rank skill ? huh?? If anything they can have social playlist… because if they put rank back as a number people will flock back…

Also… they can make it OPTIONAL to each player if they want their rank showing ?!

I think its this politically correct environment we live in…
Lets not hurt anyones feelings - even though you just killed someone and teabagged them (!!) You won’t have to see how good or bad you are ( unless you log out and go to waypoint )…

Lets be realistic here…pls stop Nerf-ING this game…
What next ?
Will 343 change the skull in oddball to a nerf football ??

FYI for those who are slow *Nerfing: The act of making something non-hurtful
