Halo 4 Playlist in Reach

(I wasn’t sure if this should go in the Halo Reach, Matchmaking or the Halo 4 section)

I thought that it would be cool for 343 to design a playlist for Halo Reach that would be as close to the settings for H4 as they can get. I know that they won’t be able to get it exactly right or maybe not that close since each Halo is pretty different, but just as close as possible would be nice.

I think this would be cool because it could give everyone a little preview of H4 in absence of a beta. I think this could also give us a little chance to make suggestions on the game before it come out as well.

From what I have gathered from the videos (343 would have MUCH better insight since they have actually played the game), they would have something like this:

-Zero Bloom
-Only Sprint start
-Upped movement speed and jump height (I think that they would also want to up the gravity too so that it won’t be too floaty)
-Set classes with various weapon starts like DMR, Needle Rifle, Assault Rifle, Plasma Rifle, ect…
-Jet Pack pick ups on some maps

Can’t really think of anything beyond that right now. What do you guys think of this idea? What else do you think would have to be in there based on what we have seen from H4 so far?

I think it would be cool except since we would be using DMRs it can’t be zero bloom, seeing as the DMRs have bloom in Halo 4, just make it further reduced from 85%.
And this probably be in the Reach forum.

So… bloom-less vanilla Reach with faster movement speed, greater jump height, and no Armor Lock?

Sounds like a slightly improved Squad Slayer.

Impossible!!!

Since when do DMR’s in Halo 4 have bloom? 343i said no bloom in Halo 4.

MLG playlist?

there is bloom. it is not as stated above just reduced. it is in fact supposed to be purely aesthetic to illustrate when the next shot can be fired visually.

CThis tread is a good idea, but wont lead anywhere, = C

Exactly because the DMR in Halo 4 fires slower than it does in Reach, that’s why I think ZB in Reach is farther away from what Halo 4 's DMR is than just a higher reduced bloom.

I realize that the settings that I put up may not sound that great, but I don’t know all that much about H4’s total settings. 343 has absolute knowledge of H4 and they would be able to make adjustments to Reach that we don’t even know about yet.

Guys this is highly unlikely. They are putting all their effort into H4 and the amount of time/money needed to make another TU (much less another playlist) just isnt there. It is a good idea (in theory) but it wont happen

I wasn’t suggesting that they do a title update. I know that that is completely out of the question. I simply think it would be cool for them to take Reach in it’s current state and adjust the settings that are in the game to make it as close as currently possible. They still have people monitoring and changing the playlists, I am just asking for them to make one that will give us a taste of H4 early.

Still, its highly unlikely. Practically impossible

It’s an interesting idea, but I just don’t think it would work well. There are so many things that Halo 4 will have that Reach doesn’t that it wouldn’t really be very similar at all.

Give me proof of that. There WILL be bloom on some weapons. I’m too lazy to find it, but someone who play-tested H4 said there WAS bloom on the DMR in H4, but it was a lot less than Reach. It could change before launch, but this is how it is as of now.

Bloom is in H4. The only reason the BR doesn’t have it is because it has recoil instead; Meaning that the gun will go slightly upwards each shot, and it will stay that way untill you stop shooting.

I still dont understand because how can a Super Solider not hold a 10ish pound gun from moving up while shooting?

In this case, gameplay trumps realism.

OP, what you do not understand is that even if you upped the movement speed and jump height, it is not going to match the Halo 4 experience which we know little about anyways.

Halo 4 has specializations, loadouts, different guns, Sprint plus an additional AA etc. So much more things you can’t cover with a simple modifier tweak to in game mechanics.

Because some things are at liberty for greater gameplay that truly dont affect canon. Cannon wise i can see them not having recoil in books and such, but gameplay wise… I mean seriously, how many times can you die and come back in a match? Until halo 4, why was red vs blue? Oh dont even think about betrayals, first intentional betray and you would get kicked and be forever banned from playing the game because of treason from the military.

True. While they tried to imitate halo 1 with anniversary playlists, ask them about does it work? And you would get a resounding no…
