Halo 4 Playlist ideas

I think that even though the Halo 4 matchmaking is bad right now, it can get better if 343i does the right things. Here are my playlist ideas. I’ve only got 10 because we’ve never had more than 10 in H4 since launch.

  1. Team Infinity slayer- like it is right now except no random drops (global ordinance), or instant spawns
  2. Big team battle- like big team is right now, but with BR only game types. Objective would be here as well
  3. Rumble pit- FFA with load outs, personal ordinance, but like infinity slayer, the global ordinance and insta spawns are gone. Slayer with objective here
  4. Team objective- combine all of the game type specific playlists into here. KOTH, oddball, CTF, regicide, and assault (if it returns)
  5. Team classic OR MLG- a more halo 3 type slayer and objective mix using the official MLG rules. Only includes remakes of Halo 1, 2, or 3 maps.
  6. Action sack- with game types from the reach and halo 3 playlists. I’d like to see some popular custom games like fat kid or halo on halo make it in too. Infection/Flood and Grifball will be available in The Sack
  7. SWAT- like it is now without insta spawns. Sprinting is ok here. There would be different types of gametypes here for the different weapons (SWAT BRs, SWAT DMRs, SWagnums ect.)
  8. Team snipers- Similar to the Halo 3 version with sprinting. Beam rifles are OK but binary rifles are not.
  9. DLC battle- slayer and objective on the DLC maps
  10. Reserved for 343i rotational playlist

I think that these ideas make most people that have been complaining happy while still staying into the 10 playlist maximum 343 has made necessary. What do you think guys? Did I forget something?

General changes I would make to the game:

  1. DMR nerf by giving it the same ammount of damage that the carbine does right now. The rate of fire would be unchanged
  2. Complex is removed from 4v4 and put into big team
  3. Global ordanance is removed, replaced with static weapon spawns like past halos.
  4. Instant spawns are taken out
  5. Vehicles gain more health. They simply aren’t fun to do anything with anymore.
  6. Flinch goes away, return descoping
  7. Active Camo nerf. What I think should be done is that when you use camo, you are completely invisible for five seconds. There is no radar jammer, and even when you are not moving you CAN be seen on the motion tracker. Recharge time is 15 seconds. This is kinda like the Arbiter’s camo from Halo 2 campaign.

What do you guys think? Do you like it? And please, if your just going to post “hurr durr Halo 4 is perfect go away” don’t post at all. If you disagree, please put reasons why. Thanks.

I would have to disagree with removing the DMR if anything just have their own designated Game-type within the SWAT playlist. For example SWAT DMRs and SWAT BRs, hell lets even throw in SWAT MAGNUMS. Who knows it’s just an idea.

I agree with the playlists needing change. As far as the weapons go I think they should remain unchanged except for the Br and Carbine…they need a slight buff. I think the playlist should be:

-Infinity Team Slayer
-Infinity Big Team (Slayer and Objective in one)
-Team Objective (seriously…combine them into one playlist wtf)
-Team Doubles
-Team Snipers
-MLG (now that the official settings are out)
-FFA (Regicide just isn’t a good FFA idea. Keep it normal with no “bonuses” for killing a certain person)
-DLC (Mixture of objective and Slayer)
-Flood (but take the AAs out I mean cmon)
-Griffball
-SWAT (I like the idea stated above with SWAT BR’s, SWAT DMR’s, and SWAT Magnums WITHIN the SWAT playlist)
-This spot reserved for rotational playlists

NOTE: While I do think these playlists are a good idea I feel that before any of this they need some new maps. There is a reason Haven gets voted all of the time…because it is the only quality gameplay map. I think once they find some nice Forge maps and make some new smaller ones, these playlists (above) will be awesome.

I seriously just don’t get enjoyment out of matchmaking anymore. If there aren’t people on for customs I MAY play Infinity Slayer or Big Team but that is about it.

This game has so much potential but I think the maps and playlists are holding it back. This is seriously constructive criticism…I want to see Halo succeed.

I hear you, dude. I just realised that I forgot Team Doubles in the OP too. Only thing I would change here would put either Flood or Grifball as a rotating playlist and put SWAT as a permanent one.

Ideally we’ll go back to social and ranked playlists, but I’m not holding my breath on that one. Otherwise, I’d like to see doubles come back. Ordnance I can take or leave in slayer—if I had to choose I’d say get rid of it. Big team with slayer and objective would be nice. An objective playlist with multiple game types would be great. I dislike dominion, but it seems like a waste to have multiple objective playlists. How about some one flag, assault, one bomb, ect. I still can’t believe assault is gone. Did Reach remove it originally? I played so little of that game I can’t remember.

FWIW making the DMR as weak as the Carbine would render it a useless piece of crap. The Carbine has a much faster rate of fire, hence why it’s weaker. I think they just need to fix the aim assist/magnetism issues. Though as a DMR user I may be biased.
