Halo 4 Player Match Up #XbL

So as we all know halo is a very based connection game. From halo 2 to halo 3 connection plays a big part for the gamers. With this being said, there should be a certain range of distance for people to match up with other players. In order to explain this better ill give you an example. On halo 3 we all know that when it comes to people from foreign countries they always pull host. Now what would happen if you could have a search criteria that would allow you to play from people from only your country? Or even better have you match up against people in your city or state? This will allow gamers to have a much more well based connection due to the fact that they are playing other gamers from their state or region. Matching up with a gamer from a different country effects the game very much and we all know who play halo that everyone complains when foreigners get host. Hopefully you guys read this post and take it into consideration that this will improve H4 and make it a better community/game for everyone to play.

It’s the truth actually.

7 Australians and 1 Mexican, the Mexican would pull host and put everyone 2-3 bar.

7 Europeans and one Australian, Australian would pull host and give the Euros 2-3 bar.

etc etc.

A regional filter should be the bare minimum that is added.

Also, the entire host selection algorithm from Halo 3 and Reach should be deleted and they should copy it from CoD as it is superior in every way.

lol you obviously havent played h3 in your life then if you think that foreigners dont pull host over everyone else… You my friend are not a halo gamer what so ever. =)

I’ll have you know that I probably have played too much Halo 3.

A region filter would be nice. Dedicated servers would be even nicer. It’s not like MS takes in 2.4 Billion dollars per year from XBL fees alone. Oh wait they do.

And that’s not even considering the advertisements on the dashboard.

Why not use the system Reach uses? I played Reach in Japan with a crap connection, never pulled host, and had no connection difficulties while playing online with people in the States.

Ok what ever you say then. Im just trying to improve the game, while your doing the exact opposite.

No, I’m not. I just don’t think you should spread false information.

I’d like something like this to be fair.

I agree with this^^ Halo need to stop with their Host history crap when selecting Host and learn from CoD. Match players on region and then give Host to the player with best upload and Ping is the best way, sure when the population drops this wont work 100%.

Like i said you obviously havent played h3 as much as you said you did… My information is all true. Just out of curiousity, where are you from?

Reachs host selection algorithm is the worst I have ever had the displeasure of playing with.

Dedicated servers are not some magic bullet or even better than P2P.

Play BF3 and you will realise how over hyped they are.

A P2P system that selects players with GOOD connections to be host are superior because 1)It’s free and 2) every player can be a server and thus more servers for people to play on.

I’m from Europe. I hate american/asian/african etc hosts with a passion so it would be nice with a region search, yes. But don’t say that foreigners always pulled host because that’s not true.

I would say more then 75% of the time foreigners do pull host… and im pretty sure everyone who has played h3 knows this.
