Halo 4 Playable terminals

Anyone else think the next step in terminals could be making them playable? This could add interesting player dynamics and different mechanics for the player to use. We could also play opposing factions in these which could explain more of their backstories and motivations anyone else think its feasible?

i agree, and im surprised i havent seen this before, or considered it myself, GJ.

I applaud you sir. Truly I do. That is the smartest thing that has been said on these forums since the First Look trailer.

not a bad idea also even thought halo ce’s terminals were very good and entertaining i prefer the terminals like halo 3’s, i find them to have a very mysterious and very dark feeling when its being shown in text especially when its content is about 100,000 years ago and reading them in a completely dead quiet deserted forerunner corridor, especially the ones mendicant bias is communicating with you, to me those were the most mystical and darkest moments of halo that i have ever played through.

I would Love playable terminals! In AC: revelations when they told the story of Altair be letting you play him i thought it was sweet and i would love to see something similar in Halo 4!

Thanks for the positive feedback guys sorry the op wasn’t well worded I’m on my iPad and it likes to change what I type. 343 stated that they wanted to delve deeper into the fiction or something along those lines playable terminals could be a way of achieving this whilst still keeping the focus in master chiefs exploration of the shield world. For example a terminal could be based in john’s boot camp days before the war this could develop and show a human quality of John through his interactions with other Spartans so etching I’d personally love to see.

Sounds like a great idea; I definitely approve!

could deff be a lot of fun

BUT at the same time it could break the flow of the campaign level,
which i guess could be solved by unlocking it and then accessing it through a menu

THat wouls be awesome, depending on how you play it.

Haha. Yes and no. Good answer anyway!

I can see it now…

A Forerunner terminal. Delay the Flood so the Didact can activate the array, as it happened 100,000 years ago. (Hypothetical Example)

Elite Terminal: Playing as pre-Arbiter Thel Vadam, fight the Brute attack on Sanghelios.

UNSC Terminal: As Admiral Cole, decimate the Covenant fleet at Viperidae, while commanding the UNSC Everest. (Cruiser on Cruiser Ship Combat) Playable.

One per mission, say there are ten missions, it adds a solid 20 minutes per terminal, some even longer. This makes Halo 4’s campaign much longer, but it is completely optional.

Credit where it’s due. These are some pretty cool ideas. In all honesty though, I think I’d rather not have a level in a terminal. It would be too distracting, for us the players, and 343i, the developers, when they could be using resources elsewhere. Like I said though, nice ideas.
