Halo 4 Perks?

I’ve heard a rumor of perks floating around…
Halo fan boy reaction :: OH HELL NAW!
Optimist(me) reaction :: Could be cool…

If there are perks in H4, they need to be Halo limited/oriented.
Here are some examples of things that wouldn’t ruin Halo 4.

Shock-Absorber : Prevents fall damage.
Extended Mag : Increases magazine size. (does not affect power-weapons).
Combat Knife : Gives player knife that enables Assassinations.
Advanced Shielding : Player shields recharge slightly faster.
Power Legs : Player can Sprint slightly faster and longer.
Light Armor : Player jumps higher.
Fast Arm : Decreases reload time and time between Melee.
Visor Scope : Enables player to stay scoped while firing any weapon. (AR)

These are some ideas of mine.
Also, I think these ideas are very good and balanced.
Are any of these OP? which one(s)?
Which one would you use?

I’ll have the No perks, with no sprint on the side and a ranking system please.

Call me crazy, but I like most of your suggestions. I’d use advanced shielding and fast Arm.

Pro tip: They’re not perks.

More etail please…
Vior Scope is good, like ODST SMG

Ignore the poll guys, I messe up on it…

Where is the “none” option?

Edit: or the “I don’t want any of this kind of things (loadouts, perks whatever) in halo” option?

I’ll have what he’s having. ^

they are extremely OP

shields recharge faster, its just idiot (sorry)
sprint faster and longer + sword = Super OP
Fast Arm, another halo with 2 beat down?
Visor Scope, just no.

If I had to pick one then it would be the shock absorber because I hate fall damage.

I don’t know. If 343i copies CoD and Battlefield, they’re gonna get T-bagged by Halo fanboys. Maybe something milder like unlockable armors that actually DO something, unlike the mannequin pieces from Reach.

That’s kind of what I wanted in Halo Reach. I wanted armor that actually DID THINGS. Armor effects that DID THINGS. Purely aestetic is like turning Master Chief into a Barbie Doll. Don’t know about you, but I’m not a big fan of “dress up” or earning credits to get “more expensive dress up options that look sillier”.

A “level up” system in Call of Duty and in Battlefield has kept people playing those games for a long time. Even if the multiplayer component of CoD has been lackluster, samey, and uninspired for it’s entire lifecycle. The ability to unlock BETTER equipment drives you to continue to level. It gives you a sense of progress and achievement instead of “I’m playing for credits just to show how long I’ve been playing this game” along with a “rank indicates time played instead of actual skill”.

It is time for Halo to catch up to this in a way.

I’m not talking “overpowered perks” or anything of the like. But specific loadouts and specializations in order to cater to YOUR playstyle is something I would be interested in seeing.

I’m not saying “let me spawn with a sniper rifle!!!”. By no means do I want players to spawn with power weapons… But perhaps some of the armor perks would ENHANCE those weapons. Like in Reach we had the extra sniper rounds on the shoulders. Perhaps that should let us carry more max ammo for a Sniper Rifle. We had a grenade belt, perhaps that should allow you an extra grenade or two.

Granted most of this is probably ALREADY in the game…

But shouldn’t Halo evolve with other games? Take successful portions of games and try to implement them in their own Halo-y way? I think so.

Now, I don’t want a Martyrdom kind of perk… But perhaps an armor piece that gives you two seconds more of jetpack would be nice…

Things that would cater to INDIVIDUAL PLAYSTYLE and not to try to make you a “force to be reckoned with”. Things that would only come up every so often. And if players know you have those things on, they know what to expect from you. Kind of like in Battlefield. You see a Recon class, you expect spawn beacons, laser designators, and motion trackers. See an assault class you expect them to have C4. Halo would benefit from this in my opinion.

The Perks you’re thinking of are called Tactical Packages and Support Packages.

Look them up on the Halo 4 website.

what was with the epic bump guyz?
these are all really OP ideas for the most part, except the knife one, I consider that a disadvantage to people that think its cool to use

All the ones you suggested, except for extra mags, sounds broken and op.

stupid double post

…Alot(some) of the Halo Waypoint community does not like the word perks…putting the name pek in your title, and you’re just flambaiting…in fact i’m surprised you haven’t been flamed already…lucky you.
Anyhow,I’ll have no perks.
