Halo 4 perks ....

Sorry if you thought that I was gonna show some halo 4 perks, but in this thread I’ll just say that I’m worried about the perks in halo 4. While looking at nak3dhalo’s halo 4 gameplay I got scared when I saw all the perks. I loved the gameplay, but the perks worry me. I’m afraid of people having advantages over one another, because they got a perk. Can anyone else share their thoughts/opinions?

Fixed.

Perks are not Armor Mods.

and they won’t be unbalanced/broken as in CoD. I’m confident in this.

In all the gameplay I watched, I never saw “perks” affect any of it. Hell, I hardly saw people using armor abilities. In all the H4 footage I’ve seen, which is pretty much everything available, I’ve noticed people are not relying on AA as much. Perks do not worry me at all.

Try to not confuse halo with cod, they are completly different games. Only both are FPS games.

So far the armor mods and tactical packages all seem balanced, its the specializations that seem only slightly unbalanced.

i know they are different games i just get a lil worried when i see a bunch of perks =/ i never even owned a single cod game before

> So far the armor mods and tactical packages all seem balanced, its the specializations that seem only slightly unbalanced.

The specializations are just progression levels. You get to level 50, then you unlock specializations and level them up until you get to level 10, then you are rewarded an armor mod that has to do with the specialization, and IMO don’t seem that unbalanced at all considering we saw some of them in action durring the Halo 4 multiplayer videos played at PAX so far. What’s so unbalanced about that?

Hey did you notice Pax Prime Halo 4 has armor mods in it? Notice it doesn’t look game changing it still looks like regular gameplay.

> Hey did you notice Pax Prime Halo 4 has armor mods in it? Notice it doesn’t look game changing it still looks like regular gameplay.

i ddint notice anything =/ i just felt a lil worried about the perks

I think that the effects will be small enough that it won’t matter as much as in COD

> i ddint notice anything

then why judge?

cause the perks made me feel worried =/

They are just like perks in battlefield not bullsh*t game game changing stuff.

Who knows, man. People write them off saying the effects are minimal or whatever, but the perks that freak people out in CoD are pretty small on paper too. How about a perk that lets you change classes mid-gameplay? Eh, no biggie-OH WAIT. Infinite nuoobtubes. Same applies to Commando. It only doubles your effective lunge range, which was very small to begin with, yet it totally broke the game. Stopping Power only means it takes one less bullet to kill someone with the average machine gun, no joke. Yet EVERYBODY HATED IT. Anyways, you get the point, I could go on and on.

Point is, when I see perks in Halo 4 that give you faster shield regeneration, faster AA replenishment, increased explosive blast radius, spawning with two primaries at once, I’m sorry but I can’t really take that stuff lightly anymore. It’s impossible to tell at this point that they won’t be OP, because all the CoD stuff I mentioned wasn’t noticed until well after launch.

Relax dude, 343i have repeatedly stated that they are not game changers. There’s no need to worry.

> I think that the effects will be small enough that it won’t matter as much as in COD

So we have 2 options:

So useless might as well not put em in the game.

Overpowered.

Pick one, either way they dont belong in halo.

Yes but you must realize what you listed is obviously unbalanced. You pointed out the flaws in them. With Halo 4, you can take out each one and not find a problem. Faster AA Recharge. It still has to recharge, kill him then. Bigger blast radius. It seems you missed that it also lowers damage. So think before you type.

This logic should be reportable… i sware.

I hope you know, just saying “oh kill him when its recharging” or “oh just avoid it” isnt an argument or a gameplay solution.

How would you like it if i said someone got to use infinite rockets against you and alls you had to do was dodge the rockets.

Typing out a little solution on paper doesnt work, theres a reason you cant just read your way to being a pro at halo or anything for that matter.

Wow, very immature… anyways all I am trying to say is that you can obviously see the flaws in the COD perks he listed. I and many other players have not found a flaw. You may point out one, and I will most likely counter it. And okay maybe you can’t kill him while he is recharging, but so what? The only AA that can hurt is is Auto sentry and that takes time to deploy. And the Blast radius increase but lower damage is fair. It just makes it easier to hit them, but decreases the damage to where it will do slight damage, but a good way to finish people off if they try to run. And please, try to refrain from being rude. I am not trying to start anything, just have an educated argument.

Ok lets take something we know is bad and ill defend it like you are

Armor lock is hardly a game changer, you cant even shoot while using it. Your like a sitting duck.
