I pretty much like everything we’ve seen so far, I’m just curious about the ranking system. My only concern is for how players will be matched up and thats about it.
I really, really, REALLY dislike some of the weapon and vehicle sounds. It should sound like Halo and futuristic, not sound like a load of real life guns.
Especially the needler, it now sounds like an Assault Rifle. I always thought Halo’s weapon sounds were unique but now it’s just turned generic.
My opinion of Halo 4 is that it’s a spine-less game that bends to the will of modern gaming trends in the hopes of rekindling an old fire, and I don’t like it. Mainly because I don’t like the trends it’s following, but also because some of us think it never needed rekindling in the first place.

what do i like in halo 4?
everything that was already there from the previous halos, nothing new being added i like at the moment, some things look promising but not fare enough for me to see i like it.
what i don’t like?
2 out of the 3 maps we’ve seen so fare such, they’re going to play horribly, granted they’ll play better then reachs maps but overall they still aren’t up to par as they could be, way to much segmentation and corridors going on, very awkward elevations and such.
customization, they’ve gone way to fare with it, you have to rank up to unlock weapons, perks to create more powerful loadouts giving a high possibility that the more you play the more advantage you have making evenly matched games decided by whos played more and not who is better which is completely un-fair.
the amount of customization also ruins the balance completely, you can customize almost everything it looks like so there is going to be 1 load out does it all effectively detracting from teamwork, encouraging selfish gameplay and creates chaotic messy gameplay.
AAs are once again looking to be horribly balanced like in reach, regen field could possibly worse then AL by pushing away enemies and regenerating everyone in the field, promethean vision lets you see through walls literally telling you where the opponents are instead of using skill to find out and along with stalker armour mod its going to be over powered, active camo is practically the same as it was in reach so active camo users are just going to camp and crouch walk every where but is made completely useless by promethean vision, auto sentry being basically an AI that shoots and possibly kills the opponent making it easy to get kills.
only sprint, hard light shield and hologram look like they’re going to balanced.

Not really, though it would be a lie if I said I wasn’t interested in seeing what 343 does with the campaign.
The purists on this forum are silly. Though, you are entitled to your opinion. halo ce may be one of the best fps’es of all time, but that was 11 years ago. Roll with the punches.
I agree with the OP about the grunts lol. Everything looks great other than the silly little grunts.
I thinkthe campaign is going to be awesome. I think it is going to feel super mysterious.
The multiplayer new things do seem super fresh to me. I think a lot of great things are happening.
I am a bit worried about a few things. Stalker mainly. Other than that… I CAN’T WAIT.
I like most of Halo 4 right now. Really excited for campaign.
I like the fact that I don’t have to use an Assault Rifle ever again and the map design is really good so far.
I don’t like that 343 might be thinking of an invisible ranking system (ew) and the personal ordinance isn’t really my cup of tea.
Love competitive halo but don’t have much time to play so I’m interested in a ranking system that doesn’t reset and isn’t invisible to everyone else but yourself. If that is what 343 is thinking then I don’t think they should waste their time making a ranking system. But that’s just me

Yeah, Cheesy pretty much summed up my thoughts. I plan on borrowing my brother’s copy (if he gets it, which is iffy) to play the campaign. It’s the part of Halo I’m still interested in even though I think the way it ended after 3 was perfect.
So far I think this game is looking pretty sweet. The loadout system could allow players to develop several distinct play styles, and I think this could be really good for halo in general.
My goal is to go in blind to the game since I am a huge halo junkie and I decided that is what made me have the most fun cause I remember looking at everything about reach which ruined it for me and i didn’t have all the memories like the original triology so I have all the books and going to pre-order and just have a blast with Halo Again.
I’m liking everything actually so far. I’m still concerned about the ranking system and I’m hoping that it’ll be based on the better you play the more xp you earn. Some of the Armor variants I’m not too fond of, and I’m upset that the Elites aren’t playable as I’m sure the majority of the Sanghelli is but I can deal with that. I’m not liking that Jetpack is pack in matchmaking but hoping it’ll be balanced unlike Reachs version. Thruster pack is how evade should have looked.
Campaign looks incredible so far in the glimpses of it that we’ve seen. I’m pretty skeptical on the multiplayer. I’ll have to try it before I can say I like it or not, but I’m fine w/ some of the changes they’re making, don’t like some of the others. As long as 343i can nail the playlist setup and cater to each playstyle well then I think it will be fine.
Overall, I think this series has a bright future ahead of it as campaign will only continue to improve from game to game while I think 343i is just packing Halo 4 multiplayer w/ as much as they can to help the game feel fressh and to see what works and what doesn’t. Once production starts on Halo 5 and 343i has all of that new hardware to work w/ in the neXtBox then I expect us all to be blown away.
