Just heard the HALO 4 OST in XBOX MUSIC. Its great. Really beautiful and powerfull…
But, there is no classic Halo Theme song anywhere!!!
WTF? Thats what I call a poor choice… hope this kind of decision doesnt reflect in any other part of the game. With this, its already losing a great part of the identity millions of people love.
Just imagine Star Wars without John Williams and the classic themes he made for the saga. It’s unthinkable.
Who cares? It’s been over 10 years since the first game came out, we’ve got a new developer & a new musician. Move on.
I’ve been listening to the soundtrack for a while and I love it - I’m so glad that 343i isn’t afraid to flex its own creative muscles rather than relying on the legacy that Bungie left us with.
As I’ve said before, not everything in the campaign is on the soundtrack. I’m not sure why this is the case, but I do know that there are plenty more nods to the original score in the game itself than what the OST would have you think.
Personally, I’m ready to move on from Marty O’Donnell. His music was fantastic, and always will be, but I’m starting to like Neil Davidge’s music so much more–with or without the old themes intact.
Correction my friend, the Never Forget theme is in there, changed up of course, and a lot of Marty’s original scales (you’ll know what this means if you know music, I do) have been used through out the soundtracks but drastic changes have been brought. Plus its a new trilogy and a new start so what the heck, its still awesome
I’m not bothered by it at all. There is a small little bit of it in “117” as someone already said. Personally this Halo OST is my favorite. It just hits it on the head. Each song has its own feel. Just amazing.
Actually there are classic themes, you brilliant people cant even look on Youtube or google to see it would seem. They are also adding more tracks to the Limited Edition of the soundtrack, possibly including the classic themes used in the game.
Mind Blown, two seconds of searching!
I will blame you all if its taken off Youtube immediately afterwards.
This soundtrack has a much more epic, and emotional feel to most of its songs than anything the Original Trilogy offers except Never Forget, which is actually in the game, so the Icing on the Cake.
This one has a feel that just pulls you into it, and it will fit with the game I am quite sure.
