I imagine by now, many of you will have listened to the Halo 4 OST. So what’s your favourite track, and why?
Personally, I wouldn’t call Legacy the best on the soundtrack. I’d call it the best in the whole damn series! It has an ethereal and eerie beauty to it, one which we’re familiar with and yet it manages to feel completely fresh and new. I can imagine it playing as you wander through some kind of ancient, empty Forerunner cathedral. Even without the actual context of the track, it conjures up many relatable images it could be applied to, which is definitely good news for a Halo track.
Listened to whole OST already (got it in Australia on the 19th, so I had a three-day head start). 117 is definitely the best for me - I hope it’s the theme for the rest of the Reclaimer Trilogy.
Slightly off-topic: Do you know if they’re ever going to release the entire game’s music for public consumption? I mean, over 300 minutes of music composed, only about an hour-plus in the OST. And that last piece from the latest multiplayer vidoc (the awesome one after 12 minutes) with was not in the OST at all, which was disappointing. Also, can we have the version of To Galaxy with choir as well? It’s kind of a waste that they composed so much great music and less than half of it is for public consumption.
