It has come to my attention that Bonnie Ross, upon becoming franchise leader or whatever for Halo, took offense to some female characters in the story and had it completely rewritten. Now considering the story in Halo 4 is absolutely terrible, at least as it relates to the rest of the Bungieverse and the rest of the Halo story, and I like to know the development history of things, I wonder what this original story, that was apparently politically unacceptable according to certain ideology, was. And if it would be more fitting of the themes of Halo and serve as a better followup to the Halo 3 legendary stinger. Overall the changes and retcons to the Halo lore leading up to Halo 4 were sweeping to say the least, but I wonder if this was done as a response to having to change the games story.
I had some suspicions as to what Halo 4 was going to be about and where they could take the story from there. And the fact that the old story apparently had some female characters that were deemed “problematic” only makes me more suspicious that I may have been on the right track.
Does anyone have any materials at all that might show something about this cut storyline? Any insider information perhaps? I’ve become very curious after learning about this. Even though I previously wrote Halo 4 off entirely for it’s silly story and linear gameplay.

I don’t have any actual pieces of information, but I have theories based upon some things. The music compositions of Halo 4 themselves in my opinion can paint a potential picture where Halo 4 initially may have been going. My theory primarily comes from the track Solace. It literally sounds like an endgame track, a reflection of one’s path when coming to the end of their path. I will just leave it at that. Listen to the track with that mindset and then form your own opinion.
Though I did hear for Spartan Ops that Requiem was thrown into the sun due to lack thereof other ideas and that idea started of as nothing more than a joke if that relates to anything.
