Maybe something that would be cool is to have an Opening Credits or an Intro Sequence to Halo 4. Many games do it these days to tie up the end of the tutorial or first level, and cinematically I think they’re amazing.
Of course, the Credits at the end of the game would remain there and have every single name instead of just the most important people.
I put together a quick demonstration of what I mean here, if you’re interested. Of course, 343i could do this much better than me, so don’t judge it based on the lack of footage we have and my bad editing. I put together the video quickly, (in about an hour) hence why there may be some errors.
I don’t think that credit sequences should ever come at the beginning of a game. Their entire purpose is to acknowledge the people that were responsible for producing the game, and displaying those people’s names before players have been able to decide whether or not the game is actually good seems a little presumptuous to me.

I understand what you mean and how it can interrupt immersion.
However, it can be implemented into the story or a cutscene.
Media uses them to list the most important members dedicated to the development, and personally I think they should get the credit. (whether their credit is good or bad, they’ll be in the credits anyway.)
