First of all thank you for the greatest Halo game to date! I have been a avid halo fanatic and player for over 10 years now. Even was playing during the XB-connect days. This by far the halo we have always wanted.
As of last night me and my friends officially quit Halo 4 online. Too many lag switchers, hackers…ECt.
I can’t have a normal game without going to black screen. Literally every single game … For 2 months now. Halo 4 online is as bad as Halo 2. I pay for a fast gaming connection and every multiplayer game that is not Halo 4…runs perfect…
People are going to call me out for venting all this, but I know how Halo runs. And this game fails to secure a decent connection cause of personal host. There is nothing you can tell me that will cover up this flaw. Just fix it please, it’s the only reason why I still pay for Xbox live.
I would gladly pay $5 a month for you guys to host us dedicated servers, just to keep a clean connection and the cheaters out.
Please fix this issue and stop giving us new maps. Releasing new content, is a playground for the people who refuse to play the game right.
I am not purchasing anymore of your content until you fix the Online Multiplayer.

PS: We have glorious LAN nights with Halo 4 still, because there is no lag or cheaters. The game actually works!
I completely agree with this post. For the last two weeks I’ve ran into some really terrible games. I have a good connection so I get host often. Usually I find myself victim of DDOS attacks evidenced by the fact that my wife is knocked off-line and I have to reset my router. One night I couldn’t even get back online for 20 minutes and I eventually had to reset my IP address. Recently I have been running an automatic IP address to cut back on the number of attacks that I receive. I am a fair player, I am a good player that plays with the team. I don’t talk mess to other players, I don’t act overly aggressive, yet I am still attacked and the games are still lagged out. I’m at the point now that I don’t even care about players using hacks like aimbots or mods. I just want to be able play the game and not sit in a black screen while the other team grabs power weapons and vehicles. I have video evidence of everyone of these claims, most of them are up on my file share. This isn’t even to mention the people who lag switch which is pretty rampant from my experience. I at least see two or three guys switching every night. I wonder if 343 even plays their game. I’ve noticed a decline in the number of players for the last couple of weeks in tandem with these problems. I hope that these issues are resolved, as I too am not going to not continue playing this game until the lag issues and hacking are fixed.
The only thing I disagree with is this being the greatest Halo game to date. I won’t get into many details as that strays off topic but I will still disagree on that.
To the main point I agree, the lag in this game is pretty bad. I don’t understand why they couldn’t keep dedicated servers like Reach.
Nope, lag is the worst thing about this game IMO. That and sticky grenades (magnetism is set wayyyyy to high, I mean come on, I know 343 wants everyone to have a chance but honestly I’ve seen these suckers bounce off the ground / jump for a good 1-2 meters).
Seriously, as soon as Destiny comes out this game can suck it.
LOL About the stickies, I’ve been killed by many Jetpacks sticky masters. It always seemed a tad bit suspicious me. Come to think of it, me and my buddy were discussing about how aggravating the stickies were… People pretty much have them equipped at all times so that when the battle starts going poorly, they can toss a quick one out before dying.
With that said, I would except the overuse of the DMR, the power of the bolt shot, and the magnetic stickies(that seem to be able to destroy vehicles so easily) just to be able to play the game without going to black screen for like a minute five.
