Well definitely saw that coming.
That wasn’t hard to expect. Halo 4 isn’t suited towards competitive play in the slightest.
MLG, in my opinion, has repeatedly disregarded so many parts of Halo 4’s sandbox that could have fit in the MLG gametypes perfectly that all they have now is a simple, stripped down, straightforward game setting with no choice or variety that results in a boring experience. In my opinion, if this is anyone’s fault, it’s theirs.

The multiplayer for Halo 4 has so amany random elements that those elements would have to be removed to promote a fair competitive environment.
They just made really good setting for it. They balance old stuff and new stuff like normal weapon spawns, and personal ordinance drops that have armor abilities. They still had sprint too. They can’t turn it of though so that’s probably why,
yup congrats on the 20th+ post on the same subject.

Too many variables that are impossible to use for competitive play.

fictitious statement.
2 teams via for a winning score against each other. That is the definition of competition.
Lol I received this news while I was playing Reach two days ago with some buds. I’m not surprised … -.-

There is a difference between street ball and NBA just like there is to vanilla and MLG.

They are both still competitive right?
There are still street ball tournaments right? where you can win prizes?

But what pays more? What is more watched? What is more looked upon?

They both use the same rules tho do they not? One is not vastly different than they others outside of the talent pools. Streetball rules are not different than NBA rules… They do not play on a different court, its still the same size. the rim is the same height, the net is the same, the backboard is the same, the 3 point line is the same distance, the free throw line is the same distance.
It’s still just as competitive, however every one has access to play street ball. Not everyone is talented enough to play in the NBA.
I would not compare MLG to the NBA in any way shape or form.
It’s off the circuit because of the deal with Microsoft and -Yoink!- Gaming. MLG v1 settings have already been released and are pretty competitive. hopefully we still get an MLG playlist in matchmaking, and maybe once this -Yoink!- gaming thing passes maybe halo 4 can return to mlg.
I think everyone is missing the facts. The reason Halo 4 isn’t on the circuit is because of the contract issues with -Yoink!- and Microsoft. Sundance was really pushing to try to get Halo 4 on the circuit this season but since Halo 4 is owned by Microsoft, and Microsoft already signed a contract with -Yoink!- Gaming saying that they have the rights to hold Halo 4 tournaments…MLG didn’t have much choice but to let the game go.
It’s not about CoD being better than Halo 4, or the weapons in the game, or the lack of community for Halo 4, or the amount of views. The reason is simple. MLG does not have the permission or support from Microsoft to run tournaments with Halo 4, and Sundance said that the only way Halo 4 would be on the MLG Circuit was if Microsoft decided to go back on their contract with -Yoink!- Gaming and give the support to MLG instead. That permission/support has been given to -Yoink!- Gaming. End of Story.

Clearly, you don’t understand competitive gameplay nor competitive Halo.

Well, no. You’re missing the point entirely.
Microsoft (and 343) are taking Halo in a different direction. Whether MLG wanted Halo or not doesn’t take away from that fact. Besides, MLG would want Halo purely for the publicity and revenue. It’s not rocket science.
Halo is now a casual game. Period. This proves the point and shows what road Microsoft (and 343) plan on taking the franchise.

no just mlg signed a 2013 console contract that doesnt include halo. VG and Sundance met to come up with a deal but nothing was reached. 343i came out and publicly apologized for halo 4 meaning the game was not released to the quality they intended nor what the public expected. Dont defend its current short comings by calling it a “new direction” because a new direction is meaningless if its right into the ground.

Considering I sold my copy H4 might give you a clue that I am beyond disappointed in H4. Nevertheless, what public statement are you referring to? When did 343 “apologize” for H4? As far as I can tell, 343 seems to think H4 is a raving success and fanboys are eating it up.
