Now I want to preface this topic by saying I’ve been playing all the Halo games since Day 1 so Im pretty used to the wonky physics involved with Halo in general as well as the finicky nature of plasma grenades specifically.
What I want to know is if anyone else feels like their stickies just bounce off enemy spartans in matchmaking or if it’s just some glitch? Sure some of it is lag and I probably just missed and it merely looks like it bounced off or whatever but there have been a few times where I have stuck them point blank only to watch my grenade bounce somewhere else. I don’t recall this happening on the campaign so I’m thinking it has something to do with the connection?
I’m pretty sure this isn’t a regular thing in halo 4 but I’m just curious.
Halo 4 is probably my least playtime Halo game, but I don’t really remember anything like that happening to me. Like you said it’s probably just a near miss or possibly a slight bit of lag.
The grenades in general felt a bit nerfed in Halo 4. Like, in Halo 3 the sound effects were better, the explosions were better. Everything was better when it came to the grenades. In Halo 4…bib thats the sound effect i hear when i throw a plasma grenade and frag grenade. BOOM -Yoink- that is what i hear in Halo 3.
i really hate the plasma and frags in this game for real.
Last game yea i stick someone but it doesnt kill them hum.

for me this is the worst part of the nerfed grenades, you stick someone ou the grenade explodes oh his feet but the enemy doesn’t dies
Sticks aren’t insta kills on the high-rank elites (anyone with a energy sword basically). All the grenades have a tiny blast radius too, they’re more like fireworks than anything.
Use them to get enemies to take/leave cover (if you’re being overwhelmed) rather than explicitly for kills.

this really isn’t about the campaign mode in any way but that’s good to know.

Oops. My bad.

You don’t have to apologize at all. I honestly didn’t know that and I probably never would have tried. Long story short my current Xbox One Controller does not recognize When I press in on the right analog stick. So I was forced to pick a control scheme that lets me zoom in with the guns or have the melee attack. Obviously. It is a shooter game. So I elected to have the zoom button on the left trigger. And I was still able to beat the heroic campaign. Without a melee attack. Lol. Goes to show you how badly the campaign was planned out when you don’t even miss one of the 3 pillars of Halo combat.

Thanks for saving me the trouble. I was JUST about to post something similar to this.
I find that Plasma grenades legit sometimes bounce off the spartans, I find it just before they sprint and just after they jump.
I mostly use plasma in Spartan Ops because they actually -stick- to enemies with relative consistency, and I almost always use Frags in multiplayer, because I can’t rely on Plasma to kill an enemy.
Don’t get me started on the worthless piece of sh*ts called ‘Pulse’, or whatever. Worst grenade in the game, and I somehow managed to get two kills before in my service record.

I find it pretty humorous how unreliable the plasma grenades are at sticking to the enemy when the bullet magnetism is so strong you can hit someone who is around cover. Lol
Plasma grenades were nerfed. This is because now spartans had the ability to avoid them with thruster pack.
