halo 4 not having unfair starts.

This is just going to be a short post… but I don’t think people realize that having different spawn loadouts doesn’t mean that there are going to be unfair starts. Look at Starcraft, it probably has the highest skill gap of any game in existence and yet the three options you have at start are so vastly different. Much different than simply spawning with slightly different abilities (or even large differences). Regardless of the difference in the spawns it is still 100% balanced and is the most popular game in mlg for this reason. You can’t judge the fact of variety in a game as making it unbalanced, it’s how they execute it. There’s no need for me to argue… Just saying a statement.

I prefer everyone starting the exact same.

This isn’t Starcraft, it’s Halo. It’s a FPS, and any time people start a game in a FPS with different guns/abilities then it becomes unbalanced. Look at Reach.

We need to see if the game is balanced. Where balance fails, so does the idea of giving players different loadouts.

True, OP, true. But i think (and this is probably the best solution) that there will be a playlist with this system and a playlist with normal halo as we know it even starts.

Lets be fair though, we have yet to see footage of this. We can describe it and imagine but not experience at the moment. Supposedly in few days there releasing new Halo 4 stuff

Im an old school halo player so i know what i like. I prefer an even playing field and its all down to the players skill to determine who wins. But with that said im open to new ideas and it will be interesting to see where 343 go with Halo 4 given the feedback they got from Reach.

I don’t consider loadouts unfair at all. Everybody can pick from all of them at the start of the match. It doesn’t matter if whether you’re a first-time player, or a veteran at the game; you can pick from EVERY loadout available. It isn’t like in CoD, where you can only start with certain guns after a certain amount of playtime (which seems unfair to me).

If they’ve done away with all AA’s except for sprint, I’m curious to see what the loadouts actually are. And like Ciaran said, we have to see footage of this in action in order to really get an idea of what they mean by “loadouts”.

I’m 100% sure 343 will not let us spawn with power weapons, so this will never even be an issue. If anything the choices will be something like BR or DMR primary, AR or pistol secondary. There are weapons that haven’t even been announced yet but you can pretty much expect custom loadouts to include choices between precision weapons, close-mid range automatic weapons, and sidearms only. No one hit kill or power weapons at all.

AN IDEA:
There are certain amount of points you get to custimize your classes with…
Those points never increase or decrease. It is just for you to be able to custimize your classes. Each weapon/grenade has its own points…but power weapons are so much points that you cant equip a secondary or gernades…ideas?

Halo 2, and Halo 3 did really well just spawning people with a battle rifle so why follow in the same path with reach, and ruin halo even more with thing like custom load outs, and AA’s?

Also the DMR’s range changed game play so drastically that it affected even how maps are constructed for a competitive environment. Which is something we do not need.

I dont want load outs and just look at what MLG has had to change just to make it competitive-- they have changed just about everything…

I find playing MLG fun, even though I lose almost every game.

there is a difference… Fun…you dont care if you die or you dont…you…it looks like you are having fun…competetivity…on the other hand…is that you start cursing every time you die because you care so much about your beloved K/D spread…
