Halo 4 = Noob Friendly

After reading the Game Informer Magazine, it really sounds like Halo 4 is directed towards noobs. Random Weapon Spawns, Two Armor Abilities at one time (Sprint included), Classes, Loadouts, and of this shanigans.

I saw a thread yesterday, which was locked, that referred to a person named Little Timmy. Basically what it said was, Little Timmy’s daddy got the game for him today, and right when he hops into a game of MP he dies. But when he dies, he spawns right on rockets because a Drop Pod just landed right in front of him.

That sounds exactly like what 343 is trying to implement here.

Instant Spawning is just a horrible idea. If I out BR a guy, with Rockets and my shields are completely down, this guy can instant spawn and find me right before my shields regenerate. That’s not how it should work.

Halo is a game about using your skill to defeat someone, not just luckily encountering a power weapon or instant spawning so you can kill the guy who just owned you.

However, I do like a few ideas you have implemented. Spartan Ops is a great idea. Joining a game in progress is also beneficiary as long as the game is not a Ranked, or MLG game.

What I Would Like To See: I would like to see a Ranked Playlist with a 1-50 Ranking System or something similar to that. The Ranked Playlist shouldn’t have any gimmicks and should be modeled after classic Halo.

An unranked Classic Halo playlist.

If you can put those two types of playlist in the game, I don’t really care what you do with the Social, regular playlists.

you better hope its noob friendly or will die on its -Yoink-

> you better hope its noob friendly or will die on its -Yoink!-

What?

Good, fresh meat for a change…

Games need new blood, fact. its a matter of balance right?

The times they are a changing. What game isn’t noob friendly?

Anyways OPs wishes will never happen. It’s finally time for the 1-50 ranks idea to die.

Call of Duty lets you instant Spawn and you don’t even get shields. And have less Health… Just sayin.

But i agree it should stay out of halo if it ruins Competitive Game-play.

Why won’t they never happen? Halo 4 needs a ranking system otherwise it’ll be much more of a disaster than Reach.

I actually like the random weapon drops. I cant tell you how many times Ive been stuck on a team of complete newbs and have had to face an actual team. The team can camp the heavy weapons while the unorganized group runs to their deaths. The random drops equalize team skill and actually add an interesting dynamic. Needing to have spotters for weapon drops and not just trying to control one part of the map the whole game like we see now. It encourages movement on the map which is something that is lacking in Reach. Teams just camp in 1 place on SB or Reflection and stay there. If the shotgun moved? That would make the people move. No more weapon campers

In short, as long as its power weapons only like firefight, I like it

That’s why it takes skill. If your team actually had any common sense, they would know power weapons drop every 3 minutes.

343 figures sense there are so many cry babies on the forums that just use the excuse of being a “true halo fan” and being there from the beggining as a reason to have everything there way, they need to make the game easy so that the cry babies can play without being able to see through their tears and blind rage.

Lol, You are just happy so Bad Kids like you actually have a chance against competitive players.

Thank you for proving my point.

My point is for regular matchmaking though. Im a brigadier, and if I get stuck with 3 first day players to fight against a team. Theres nothing I can do against a team.

In team play it adds the dynamic of spotting. Im matchmaking, its an equalizer between new and old players and increases on map movement

That kids who suck shouldn’t have an opinion? Your welcome.

Halo has always been noob friendly (until they decided to ditch the tutorial in Reach that is), the difference is it it generally stops holding your hand after the first couple of levels and let you explore mp on your own.

if these changes like random weapons remains halo mm will loss a lot of points

The following quote proves your point.

When talking about the “random” weapon spawns they said this: “This gives the matches other focal points, and it also helps alleviate the advantage longtime players always used to have over newer recruits”

Of course, because someone who is experienced in something shouldn’t be better than someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing. /sarcasm

you do realise he is just talking about halo 4 experience right and not experienced halo players in general

there is a difference, I think

The thing is these new games aren’t noob friendly at all. Not even remotely so. Halo Reach doesn’t even have a tutorial anymore. And all these -Yoink- “noobfriendly” mechanics are completely opaque and incomprehensible. As a matter of fact it’s about as noob-hostile as is at all possible.

And at the same time any semblance of sensible game balance is thrown to the wind entirely. So you have a game that isn’t good with noobs, and isn’t good with veterans. And the only reason people buy it is because it has big marketing and a big name.
