If you look at the Halo Bulletin for this week, you see a list of achievements toward the bottom after all the soundtrack/music stuff. You’ll also see, as you look through said achievements, that there are none for obtaining skulls (only 1 for have 3 skulls on during campaign).
This leads me to believe that skulls will be in the game, but not “findable” as per Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo: CE Anniversary.
Unless, of course, they’re hiding some achievements for the purposes of not spoiling certain things in the game, or the less likely but still possible scenario of them just not making skull-based achievements for… whatever reasoning (what good reason WOULD there be for that?).
Anyone else a little upset about that? I mean, one of the things that made Halo campaigns more enjoyable for me were finding skulls. It’s something to do AFTER you beat the game (for me, anyway). I usually beat the game on Normal, so as to not be distracted by tough gameplay so I can enjoy the story better, then go back and beat it on Legendary for the challenge, then go & find skulls.
> Pretty sure there are skulls in H4. In some form or another.
They are in there, but like with Reach, they seem to be already available, and don’t require finding. This is what my OP was about. I like finding skulls (and terminals).
I like that terminals are hidden and “findable”, but if skulls aren’t, I’ll be a little upset
> I hope this isn’t the case. I love skull hunting.
Same here. It was the best thing about Halo 2 campaign, and certainly of Halo 3. I feel like they perfected it with Halo 3. They even did an awesome job with introducing skull-hunting in Halo: CE Anniversary. I really enjoyed it.
343 put skulls in CEA. Also, H4 seems more and more like it will feature bigger environments than any previous. So I do not think they will exclude skulls. (as a collectable).
I don’t believe that they are hiding any achievements, or else they would’ve hidden some of the other ones.
However, just because there isn’t an achievement doesn’t mean they aren’t going to be hidden. Maybe they just didn’t have room, and they found it a bit redundant with already have the Terminal scavenger hunt achievements.
You people forget that there are other rewards than achievements. I am sure that skulls are still in as a colletable, but our reward is not an achievement. It could be an armor skin, an armor set, or another reward.
Just because there isn’t an achievement for something, it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist.

i dont think it had to do with running out of room (they have like 8 pointless achievements like taking a pic in theatre). Also i added up the achievements and they came to 1000. so they arent hiding any
What? I was so sure that we would have to locate skulls. After doing so in Halo: CEA, I expected 343i would certainly do the same in Halo 4. I’ll pretty disappointed if we can’t locate them in Halo 4, to say the least.
i honestly think that finding skulls will make a return considering CEA had skull hunting and skulls didn’t even exist for that game back at its original release in 2001.
Also, just because that the achievement list shows skulls being on for the achievement doesn’t mean you wont have to find those skulls first.
Just a theory. i would keep your hopes up though, Bungie made Reach and 343 made CEA, so if you go by their record so far (given it hasn’t been very long) they seem to be quite fond of little goodies in their games, including the skulls.
I’m pretty sure will be able to hunt for the skulls, that achievement doesn’t confirm anything. To be honest does anyone want achievements for finding all the skulls, I think the reward we get for finding the skulls is using them in campaign.
