We’re hearing that power weapons may not respawn in at set intervals, adding some unpredictability as to when rocket launchers, Spartan Lasers, and WMDs may reappear on the battlefield. The point of this is to make sure experienced players won’t dominate matches by running timed circuits to grab all the best goodies.
“experienced players won’t dominate matches by running timed circuits to grab all the best goodies”.
Where’s the ranking system that seperates the good kids from the bad kids? Like in Halo 3, where 50s played 50s and 10s played 10s. Do we really want another Reach with unfair teams altogether?
Weapons not on timers? wow no thanks. As bad as ‘campers’ can be all this will do is add another element of randomness to the game. Halo is all about equal opportunity for every player and every team. If one team gets lucky with a weapon spawn in a close game and it pushes them to victory I would be very pissed.
Besides this wouldnt even adress the problem of camping. The really annoying players will still wait around for a sniper to spawn even if they dont know the exact time it will be up. As long as they know that it will be back “sooner or later” they will camp it up until the cows come home. Horrible idea.
If you really want the newcomers to the game to have a fun experience where they dont get demolished by more experienced players every game then just institute a working rank system for matchmaking (something reach DIDNT have).
Trueskill will be in this game just like it was in reach. You people need to realize that just because you can’t see something doesnt mean it’s not there.
Another note is no skill system will ever work if you dont have enough players. This is why Reach trueskill failed.

Just because it’s there doesn’t mean it works properly.

The system in Reach was weak. Even in the most played playlists with over 10 000 players the system managed to make the teams unfair and people won 50 to 0 over the other team. Even though this never applied to me since i don’t play Reach, it’s boring to play against people with so much more lower skill than you and thus win 50-0.
You know, with timed weapons, pro can rape the -Yoink- of noobs, but noobs can get aknowlodge of that and improve their game… now, with random, the lucky gets it, and with the progression loadout scheme, hello? Mr.Skills? I’m already missing you.

Let me educate you 343 because you clearly do not understand multi player FPS gameplay.
The ENTIRE point of weapon pick up in multi player is to encourage map movement. You achieve this by having players know when weapons are respawning.
There is literally no point in having weapon pick ups if players do not know when the weapons are respawning. Players will not be encouraged to move and flow around the map to fight for and acquire the newly spawning weapons.
This kind of stuff really reflects badly on you 343. It kind of shows that you don’t know halo, or even fundamental FPS mechanics.

Incredibly wrong. If you played halo3 or halo2 you would find that the trueskill system in that game was much better. There is no comparison. Even in playlists with only a few hundred players you would eventually get matched up with like skilled players. In reach ill join a game where certain players will just get destroyed every game. And it must be really frustrating for them. Even in the first few months where reach had easily 200 000 players on at any given time this was true. SO you cant blame it on low player count.

Never listen to gaming websites that base their opinion on something they haven’t played. They usually have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about.
