Halo 4 next-gen Xbox?

Now i know what you are going to say and yes i too saw the Xbox 360 logo at the end of the Halo 4 trailer. But with the recent Xbox 720 logo in the Real steel trailer, i was wondering could Halo 4 be on the next Xbox? I mean this got me thinking and this is only speculation, but could it be a reason why 343 havent given us anything on the gameplay or graphics side? Now i know the main reason is that the game is more than a year from release but can’t you think about it? I mean would it not be the perfect game to start a new generation? Halo C.E. started the origional xbox and the first trilogy. Could Halo 4 be doing this? Now remember this is all something that I have in my head at the moment so don’t flame me.

Halo 4=360
Halo 5+6=New xbox.

Thanks for your excellent contribution!

Halo 4 is coming out for the xbox 360, As Microsoft had allready stated that.As for Halo 5-6 thats debateable.I think 6 would come out for the next gen xbox for sure.

No need to be sarcastic, I simply answered your slightly stupid question.

The Xbox 720 logo in the Real Steal trailer was nothing more than a cheeky joke from Microsoft.

Remember the launch of Kinect? Microsoft said they were planning on expanding on it for years to come, the last thing they are going to do is launch it after wasting millions of dollars on the technology to be scrapped onto an old console.

I mean sure, the ‘720’ will probably have a built in Kinect Censor or something of that sort but Kinect is Microsofts main focus right now, the 360 is not going anywhere soon, the possibilites of Kinect haven’t even fully explored, the Kinect hacking is just showing more upon more possibilites.

Halo will never go past the Xbox 360.

I personally think Halo 4 and 5 will be on the 360, with Halo 6 being a launch title for the new console. Similar to Halo 3.

There’s been no word on a new Xbox yet, beyond rumors, all of which say 2014 or later. In other words, Halo 4 will more likely than not be on the 360. Halo 5 and 6, on the other hand, will likely be on the new console.

Halo 4 will most likely be on Xbox 360, but Halo 5 and 6 better not to be on the same console anymore. Halo Reach stretched the performance of the 360 to it’s limits. In order for Halo 4 to look any good compared to Reach, it either has to come up with a really special performance/memory saving technology, or just scrap features.

Microsoft is stupid if they think the Xbox can last even until 2014. Xbox 360 is seriously outdated, it’s RAM memory is already losing to mobile phones, soon it will loose to them on other areas. If Halo 5 was to be released on Xbox 360, it would have no difference to Halo 4 in terms of graphics or enviroment sizes.

I sincerely hope that Halo 4 would already be on their next console. I don’t know how I would react if Halo 4 didn’t graphically surprise me. At least one thing is certain, I wouldn’t be happy.

Halo 4 will definately be on the 360. As stated many times, this console generation will last until about 2015, 2013 at the earliest. I would expect Halo 5 to be a next-gen game however that depends on how long they wait to release it.

If there’s a Halo 4 Legendary Edition, I’ll be getting it.
If there’s a Halo 4 Limited Edition Console, I’ll probably be getting it too.

the new xbox won’t come out next year. The earliest would be 2014, which would either be the time halo 5 comes out, or the year before.

At what point was it stupid?

Concidering Real Steel takes place in 2020?

And Halo 4 comes out in 2012.

I don’t think we will be getting the 720 next year.

Lets not forget that Halo 4 is confirmed to be a 360 game.

well, IGN asked Phil Spencer cleary that is Halo 4 comes out on 360? and also he said clearly “yes”. I don’t think he’s gonna lie to millions of people.

I think Halo 4 will be the last Halo on 360, next Xbox comes out on 2013 and Halo 5 on 2014 on that console (or even maybe 2015). after Halo 5, a spin off like ODST will come out, and at last Halo 6.
also I think a HD remake of Halo 2 and Halo 3 will come out as a collection on the next Xbox. this is my speculation actually.

Isn’t the game still in its early days of development? I can’t imagine it being hard for 343 to switch it. It would be great to see the new trilogy being released on the new console. New trilogy, new chapter and new console to enjoy it on.

Personally I think Xbox/MS/343 are crazy is if they don’t move to an xbox720 or whatever the new xbox is codenamed with Halo 4.

Why spend so much resources and have an the longest gap in console generation history just to bring Halo 3 again?

Seriously the limits of the current gen xbox 360 are so prevalent in games now it’s almost hindering developers and the progress of game evolution.

Imagine the difference in Halo with a new generation console…Now imagine Halo 4 on the xbox 360. It’s not exactly the sort of thing that makes me want Halo for the next 10 years.

That critical leap to a next generation console would be the launch title and launch console platform to ignite the Halo franchise once again, for another 10 years.

I’ts my personal guess that this strategy and console will be hidden away, media confirmd until the last minute as a 360 title and end up as either an exlusive 720 or backwards compatible 360/720 launch title.

> I personally think Halo 4 and 5 will be on the 360, with Halo 6 being a launch title for the new console. Similar to Halo 3.

The xbox 360 came out 2 years before halo 3.

Also to the op, they haven’t even announced the next console, it would be out at the earliest 2013.

> Isn’t the game still in its early days of development? I can’t imagine it being hard for 343 to switch it. It would be great to see the new trilogy being released on the new console. New trilogy, new chapter and new console to enjoy it on.

The game is more than 2/3rds done >_>

I sincerely feel they should wait another year before releasing Halo 4. Since Halo 2, every full Halo game had been released 3 years apart.

Halo 1 = 2001
Halo 2 = 2004
Halo 3 = 2007
Halo R = 2010.

This means Halo 4 SHOULD be released 2013. Many of you firmly state the Xbox 3 wouldn’t be released until 2014 earliest. This is entirely untrue. Microsoft had NEVER stated that a new Xbox wasn’t on the way within the next couple years. The reason a 2013 release sounds realistic is because Microsoft DID state that they expect the Xbox 360 to LAST well into 2014, 2015, but also very clearly said the lifespan would DEFINITELY continue into the next Xbox’s life. Starting to sound a lot more like a 2013 release now, isn’t it?

Releasing the new trilogy onto the next console would be the SMARTEST move. This would allow more universal interfacing between all three games. Credits could be more easily interchangeable, things such as theatre mode more backwards compatible, and friends lists/clans tied together more seamlessly, among the many other features we are yet to know about.

Also, mind you the talk of the next video game systems not requiring (nor having) discs. How most games will be streaming or download only. Please don’t get the impression of this being far-fetched or inefficient. Massive data storage is now capable of being the physical size of two flash-drives. The current 360 Slim HDDs have enough space to fit multiple terabytes. Now consider the extra RAM and general processing power they could fit in place of the disc tray. Discs are obsolete. Everything is and will be streaming and digital only. Why do you think the new MacBooks did away with disc trays?

Now, imagine how having one game out of the trilogy left behind on the 360 could ultimately hold Microsoft back for their next system, needing to appeal to the gamers who want to continue playing Halo 4 on their next system. Don’t forget the issues Microsoft had with backwards compatibility due to the different graphics card.
