Think about it for a second. Everyone keeps commenting that no new trailers, or footage have been released, and how tight-lipped 343 are being. I’m sure they would love to show everyone what they’ve got so far, if they could.
One only has to do a quick Google search, to see a horde of rumours spewing out of every crevasse of the gaming world. Lots of these rumours state E3 2012 in June will be the unveiling? Who knows, it only rumours. But what if this is why we can’t be shown anything? 343 is a Microsoft company, and I’m confident Microsoft would want to kick the Xbox 720 off with a bang? What better way than a Halo game?
All other rumours point to a 2013 release? But if Halo 4 is one of the last in the Xbox 360’s lifespan, that would completely suck! I’d rather they push back the release, and launch 720 style!

Thats right, if they said it was for 360 but flipped it on us and told us if we want to play it, then we have to pay $300+ for the 720(or whatever its gonna be called), that would make a lot of people mad

Halo 5 would most likely be on next gen xbox but Halo 4 is for current gen. As far as i am concerned, 343i are probably just waiting for a major show (such as E3) to show off anything new. If they show off something now, then they probably wont have nothing new to show off at E3.

My money’s on Halo 5. By 2015, the 360 will be 10 years old, that’s pushing it. Microsoft keeping the same console out there for 13 years would be plain ridiculous, especially as the Wii U is supposed to be 8th-gen.

no, i think Halo 5. each halo game lasts about 3 years. that puts halo 5 at about 2015. thats well overdue for a next-gen xbox. the 360 was released in what? 2005? thatll be 10 years already.
C’mon guys didn’t you consider that “on the 360” could be a bluff? Microsoft would be stupid to not release a new console what with Sony and Nintendo both doing next gen consoles, I can only see them not releasing it to try and more monies and kinetic sold before they release it which will destroy the Xbox community as everyone’s mates would be in the ps 4 :L

sony came out and said they are not announcing a next-gen at E3. so it wont be for a while. and the Wii-U is nintendo’s Kinect/Slim. not neccessarily a new console.

No, because forcing people to buy a new console to play Halo 4 would make a lot of people quite angry. It’s a smarter idea to give them a couple of years to get the new console before releasing a new Halo game on it.
Think what would have happened if Halo 3 were a launch title for the Xbox 360. Sure, the console would have sold a bit more, but the game would have about half the sales or so than it did. It’s not everybody that can afford or wants to buy a console on day 1.
In plus, they already have the game running on the 360 and all that and have been working on it for 2-3 years, I doubt they would have the development kit for the new Xbox already, and if they got one now, it wouldn’t be enough time to make it worthwhile to release on the next Xbox.
Lolwut all you like but we haven’t seen anything in engine so far (for the first time I might add in a halo reveal trailer) no ones forcing anyone to buy anything if it’s in the new Xbox whatever it is then it’ll probably be better as a game.
Halo 4 has been confirmed to be on the 360. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Halo 4 was to be on the next gen console as some sort of “Xbox Original”. Not exactly like that, but perhaps a category that gives you games that weren’t able to be released for the “720”. Though I wonder how a 360 to “720” link could be made… I guess thats for the experts at Microsoft to worry about.
Halo 4 is confirmed for the 360, but it has not been confirmed to be solely for the 360.
Whether Halo 4 comes out on the new xbox is whole other question. I personally don’t think we will see the next box until 2013, but I still slight hopes that we will see it this winter which will likely see a Halo 4 upgraded edition for the next console, but there is a very slim chance of that.
