I have just seen a new video about the soundtrack from Halo 4 Follower. After watching the video I can’t help but point out the fact they want to add a Dubstep rhythm. This irritates me as I can’t stand Dubstep however I understand other people may like it. I would prefer a remix of the original Halo soundtrack as they have ALL been very similar throughout all of the Halo’s thus far and I wish for it to continue. Leave a post/comment if you would prefer a Dubstep soundtrack or a Original soundtrack.
Dubstep rythem…lolwhut?, Neil CLEARLY stated in the music Vidoc that he would be taking inspiration from EDM, because the forerunners were very tech heavy and it totoally fits the theme. Also calm down, it isn’t in every song. And if you’re talking about the EDM remix album, you don’t have to buy it, I would preffer the remix album and in no way are they similar, they just used alvin risk a lot. If they’ve all been “very simmilar” which is untrue for reach and ODST it’s time for a change.
Original Soundtrack. I can’t stand the dubstep bullcrap. I love electronic music, but dubstep is just a disgrace. As for the remixes of the soundtrack, the only one I liked was the Green and Blue KOAN Remix.
Im not liking any of the OST’s and remixes, i would love for the old stuff to return but i understand its a new composer and company. The fact that i dont like this music means i’m not going to have the connections and feelings i’ve always had and loved towards master chief and his story. But i’ll just have to accept it.
I know this sounds kinda silly but im not going to feel the same way about the games or even have a new connection while this music is put into it.

If you love EDM and think dubstep is a disgrace then you’re listening to the wrong type of dubstep. If there are any genres that are a disgrace to EDM, it would be techno.

That’s more ambientish then anything electronic.
BTW
This is also dubstep: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_ZftrTodU0

That’s Dubstep? I thought all Dubstep was “wub wub wub wub wub wub.” Thats all I ever heard when someone tried to get me to listen to Dubstep. But I am liking this song. And if that other one was too ambient, then I guess this is a better example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ES9OqExryM&feature=my_liked_videos&list=LLobnzOE9TLwRv3koxXjgwZw
Dubstep…don’t like it. The Original ones are better.
Thanks for you comments/posts every one!
Here is the link to the video I watched if you’re interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzMcxOmzjC8&feature=plcp
And DjBoogieBear, I understand EDM is what they are going for but if you watch the clip you may see where I am coming from and what I meant about them being very similar is that they have all had a so called Original rhythm. Halo: CE. Halo 2, Halo 3 all had very similar music which could be related to a rock kind of music. Halo 3 ODST and Reach have had a very orchestral theme to it which could be related to the beginning of the Halo: CE theme song.
Eff Dubstep.
I listened the whole OST Remixes and all of those are good, even that I don’t like Dubstep . The songs aren’t Dubstep, they are kind of Electronic, some of them are calmed and some of them are ElectroHouse, which are different than Dubstep.
I like both soundtracks, really.
If you dont like the Remix’s, why not just buy the Halo 4 Original Soundtrack, and not all the Remix’s are even dubstep
so I am not sure where people keep coming up with them all being some sort of Dubstep Remix. Thats however why there are two editions of the Halo 4 Soundtrack, because some people only like the Original Tracks with no remixed quality, while the Special Edition comes with the Remixes and all the other bonuses including the originals.
I hope they do come out with the Remix Soundtrack separately from the Special Edition. I do not want to pay the $75 for all of the extra stuff I’m not really interested in when I only want the two versions of the soundtrack.
Oh, so there are two different soundtracks? I never knew that. Thanks guys.
What I most definitely want to hear from the OST is the full “Solace”. Some parts of it sound beautiful.
i dont understand how you can dislike a whole genre! I take each song as it comes, metal, rap, classical RnB even Kpop! lol
Hating a whole genre is a little closed minded.
Anyway from the video the OG poster refers too are just fan made remixes, the original score wont contain dubstep right?
Another point: posters have stated that they wont have the same emotional attachment to the story as they do not like the music as much may be surprised:
It is more likely they have developed strong attachments to the original soundtrack due to visual stimulation provided from the game itself.
If they heard the music without the visual emotional switches the games display it is likely they would have not made that strong connection in the first place.
So from a psychological view point; you may find you actually enjoy the Halo4 soundtrack MUCH more, when you are able to connect it to a gripping story line with strong emotional hooks (we hope!)
BTW dubstep is just a current trend, it will die out shortly like other flash in the pan music genres - such as Nu-metal and new-romantic 80’s music haha.
Peace
Industrial and EBM woulda fit better, Dubstep is just…uncreative and pure -Yoink-

There’s the OST which consists of 15 soundtracks from the actual game. There is the remix soundtrack as well which comes with eight (?) remixes.
