all-rite so this is my first post since i left bungie.net permamantly so all i have to say is the ancient enemy of halo 4 is NOT the forerunners i know that much warning this may contain spoilers.

343 has said in the trailer halo 4 will follow the novels and if you have read halo cryptum and\or halo primordoium that the forerunners ARE not bad guys i wont go into details so i will only list the possible enemies oh halo 4 with an explanation

mencident bias known enemy to the forerunners but unlikely seeing as he is apparently seeking redemption so possible ally to mister chief ?

The timeless one probably the least likely seeing as he is dead the didact killed him

precursors unlikely the timeless one was the last precursor and he’s dead…

the flood puts on flame suit in fortunately this is the most likely it is a known fact that the flood still exists and is an ancient enemy but i actually doubt that we will be fighting them mainly as a enemy

covenant yeah their back were fighting elites all over again this is officially confirmed

humans this is my personal belief that we will be fighting prehistoric humans in halo primordium they hated forerunners and wished to activate halo in front of them although the prehistoric humans are dead they live on as ghosts

so who do you think the enemy of halo 4 is ?

Timeless was the last known Precursor in the milky way.
The Flood came in from outside the galaxy.
Primordial/Timeless refers to the Flood as the final insult. It can be assumed Flood was made by Precursors still living outside our galaxy.

Precursors still viable option for enemy.

The Primordial states “Some escaped, creation continued.” He also says Humanity will be tested again. Even by process of elimination, the Precursors, to me, will definitely be the main Evil in the new trilogy :slight_smile:

  1. Halo isn’t being milked. Tons of people wanted a continuation on Halo 3 as there was still a story to tell. “Wake me-when you need me.” Yeah, because that sooo doesn’t imply that Cortana will need John at some point.

2.It has been said by 343 that there will be no Flood. As for a link to support that, I’m sure someone else can help with that. I don’t wanna. :wink:

If there are no flood in H4, it hardly rules them out as a major enemy of the entire series. As far as we can tell, most of the game takes place on a forerunner installation. I expect the galaxy spanning flood based war won’t happen until 5 and 6, if it does happen.
