1. Lunge
Halo 4 needs Lunge. It doesn’t need to be over the top like Halo 2’s Lunge system but if they could bring back Halo 3’s Lunge, that would be awesome. The biggest problem I have with Reach is the Lunge system or lack thereof. I’m tired of shooting someone to successfully get their shields down only to swipe the air harmlessly instead of leaping for the kill. Every so often you will get lucky and leap at someone but it should happen way more often.
Some say it’s “Unrealistic” but I remind you we’re Genetically engineered super soldiers with enhanced strength which is further enhanced by our combat armor. That combined with adrenaline flow during a combat situation means we should be able to leap at an opponent. ODSTs could do it, why couldn’t the Spartan IIIs?
2. Boot Drivers who Team Kill
I just left a match where I jumped onto the back of a Warthog but instead of hunting down the enemy my driver decided to drive right off the cliff. Then a few seconds later another driver followed us right over the side taking his gunning with him. Less than 30 seconds into the game and we have a -4. If a Driver goes over a cliff and takes his teammates with him it should count as a betrayal and not a “Fell to your death”. If it was an accident you can forgive them by not booting them but if they did it on purpose like they did to us earlier, you should be able to boot the bums out.
That same driver also allowed an enemy onto his gun and drove him around so he could kill us.
3. Forfeit
How many of us have been in a match where you find yourself greatly outnumbered because your team abandoned you? Quitters have always been and will probably continue to be a major pain in the rear and you can’t really stop it. But we should at least be given the option to Forfeit the match if we want to. An option which says “Screw this, you guys win” and lets you leave without taking any kind of rank reduction or score penalty, which was terrible in Halo 3.
It would just be an option in case you’re tired of being tea bagged by a dishonorable group of people who think they’re awesome because they outnumber you 4 to 1 or greater. Sometimes you might be able to turn the tide and show them up which is fine, but the option to leave without penalty would be real nice to have just in case.
4. Delay the Banshee’s Maneuvers
The Banshee, or Forerunner/Precursor equivilant, should not be able to spin around again and again and again as many times as it wants making it impossible to hit. There should be a split second delay to prevent it from doing so so that people can at least try to get a solid lock on it.
Perhaps make it so that when you do a maneuver it takes away a big chunk of your boost gauge and if you do it too many times you have to wait for it to recharge. If you abuse it you wont be able to maneuver right away nor speed away which makes you vulnerable to enemy fire.
