Halo 4 needs to have Halo 1's field of view

After playing Halo: CE Anniversary I couldn’t help but feel terrible switching back to Reach because of the field view thing. It’s not just Reach I’m referring because other Halo games had this issue as well. I think Halo 3 had this even worse than Reach, but that’s not what I want to talk about here. Of course after a while I got used to it but still, nonetheless, it was amazing how I could sit back, relax, and play Halo: CE well, unlike in Reach where I felt I had to sit and lean forward to concentrate properly.

Indeed, higher FOV is a must. I’ve been discussing this topic for some time now, and I’ve come to understand that some people actually prefer a lower FOV. I myself prefer over 100 FOV on console games, and over 120 for PC games. So what to do? Implement a FOV slider setting in Halo4, that would go from 60 to 120 degrees.

I already posted this video I made in another thread, I’ll just link it here too: Field of View in games

While a high FoV would be nice, it isn’t actually possible with the 360’s hardware.

Console games can’t just implement a FOV slider like PC games… well technically you could, but console games are optimised to one specific setting to get the best performance the developers are happy with.

120 is too high anyway.

They should give us an option to lower the graphics or anything that prevents it. I’m not asking anything higher FOV than Halo 1.

I totally agree, gameplay over graphics anytime. Imo, if you’re going to make a game, you first work out the gameplay factors, such as the FOV, let’s say we set it to 90, then only after that you start working with the graphical side. In other words, first figure out the best possible playability, and then start working within those constraints. It’s completely illogical to do it the other way around.

Ahh crap, my english sucks today, hope you guys understand what I mean…
