Well I’m thinking instead of spread and bloom, we could just have proper recoil, where the reticle moves upwards slightly each time the player fires the weapon. If those are the sorts of game mechanics that you’re talking about.
Pretty much agree, I mean it can’t be totally different, it has to stay true to the core mechanics but some changes are welcome, and I’m sure there will be just like between all the other games. Halo 4 will most likely have a whole bunch of new weapons and vehicles.
I hope that’s what you mean, because if a few changes but overall the same mechanics with a new campaign and new Multiplayer maps isnt what you want I don’t know why you would spend $60 on a game called Halo 4, buying a Halo game someone should be expecting a Halo game, just saying.

If we are going to be playing as a Marine I agree with you but as long as we play as Master Chief there can’t be recoil :p. Wouldn’t surprise me if there’d be just as much whine about recoil as bloom if not more…
> Wrong, it should emulate the mechanics that made CE and H2 great. “Innovation” is what made Halo 3 and Reach so awful.
There was a lot more innovation between Halo 1 and 2 than there was between 2 and 3. Halo 2 added dual-wielding, boosting on vehicles, vehicle boarding, destructible vehicles in multiplayer, removed fall damage and removed visible health (and added health regeneration). The most notable was changed between Halo 2 and Halo 3 was equipment, stronger melee and sword block (The last two being not that big of changes). I for one loved Halo 3 (as do many others).
Based on your argument, Halo 2 should have been a horrible game, which it isn’t.

Then don’t play Halo. If you don’t like Halo gameplay there are other games to play. Halo needs to stay as Halo.

The jump from halo CE to Halo 2 was perfect, the jump form Halo 2 to Halo 3 was mainly the graphics increase because of the new console.

yes, I think they need to do this and get rid of bloom. Then we would have the true Halo feel back.
