I think halo 4 is an amazing exciting and highly playable game. Even before the weapon balancing I thought so.
That said, I stopped playing a while ago. The only true problem I have is that there is no REAL player investment system. I think dlc left so much to be desired. Just maps? Really? No new weapons or armor or load out options? No new armor abilities? They made every bit of player investment available in the first 50 levels of gameplay! No new weapon skins? Just maps.
I don’t mean to complain so much as to aid the development of the next halo game that I am very excited for.
Spartan ops was cool but not a proper replacement for firefight, because spops was too easy. Firefight just kept going and your skill level was challenged every time no matter how good or bad a player you were. I am not challenged or drawn back to sp. ops.
I know… Tl:dr, right?

The last thing the sandbox needs is more weapons, and introducing that via DLC will do nothing but piss off those who don’t buy it, especially if said new weapons were better than the on-disc ones.
And then we run into the technical difficulties of adding weapons, armour, etc to Halo.
I disagree. You could have more weapons in the sandbox (look at battlefield) however, would you want more weapons that are functionally the same as all the others to maintain balance?
I guess my point is that it’s the same thing over and over and I don’t feel as though I’m earning anything. I know it’s a game and the point isn’t to earn things, but to play a fun game competitively, it helps to know that when you win or play well you get something for it.
I feel like the problem could be solved by bringing firefight back with a bajillion maps.

Because Battlefield is so balanced.

So what? There was no player rewarding in Halo 2 and Halo 3. You could see your skill rank, and Halo 3 had a few unlockable armor permutations from Achievements and Campaign skulls, but nothing else.
When you win, you should get the satisfaction of winning itself. If you don’t get that, then you don’t like the game.
It’s too late for you though. You’ve crossed over into Call of Duty land.

Battlefield based of real life weapons and the amount they can vary from weapon to weapon doesn’t have to be much to have it play differently, halos weapons need to be heavily different from one another to a certain degree thus making it difficult.
On armour that should be added since its easily done in other games with character skins which armour basically is (reskinned surface) and they can do it with weapon skins and armour patterns so its possible
they’re adding more DLC armor, but it will cost you $14.99 for each pattern… (by buying the action figures coming out this fall, rolling eyes).
Very greedy of 343 to charge for it, instead of adding it in-game through commendations or challenges.
They should just raise the level cap and add it that way.
