Halo 4 needs more covvy style maps

Halo 4 is the only game in the series that hasn’t had a covenant style map, Halo CE had damnation, halo 2 had midship, halo 3 had snowbound, halo reach had zealot but halo 4 doesn’t have any. i miss the bright orange and purple colours of the covvy maps that shined in their metallic glory. i know the covenant don’t play much of a part in halo 4 and that it is more forerunner based but still, there is the storm covenant, surely they have an outpost somewhere on requiem or a corvette orbiting around the planet.

I’d like to see Gemini come back, myself. That was a good map. So was Assembly.

id be grateful for wizard/warlock and heretic to come back

I definitely agree with this. Covie arena maps are as Halo as it gets.

Halo 4 needs A covy style map. The complete lack of purple is disappointing. Covenant maps have traditionally been some of the best maps in the game due to their round, very Arena style nature.

Halo CE’s Chill Out and Damnation, Halo 2’s Midship and Gemini, Halo 3’s Heretic, and Halo Reach’s Zealot were all very good maps. In fact the only really bad Covenant map that has ever existed was Snowbound.

Maybe the next DLC should be a Covenant themed DLC. Giving us Playable Elites, using scaled down versions of Halo 4’s Campaign Elites to be the size of Spartans. a Midship remake + an original Covenant themed map. And a set of weapon skins themed after Covenant styled weapons, kind of like how the Reign skin for the Carbine makes it look UNSC developed. Heck, maybe even add the Needle Rifle and Plasma Rifle as a Primary and Secondary loadout option, or include actually re-modeled versions of weapons as skins.

It would be nice to see the Elites come back to Halo multiplayer in a big way. You’d draw a pretty large crowd from Reach that way too, since a significant amount of players still on Reach are only there because of Elites.

We also need a Covenant themed forge map.

This times a thousand. They could deal with the curved architecture with very clever corner pieces.

I cannot remember how many times I’ve wished for a Covenant-themed Forge Map.

I think it’s about time that we get a Map Pack dedicated entirely to Forge.

I find the lack of Covenant maps in Halo 4 disturbing.

You like the underground mosh pit of AR’s Melees and Shotguns pretending to be tactical with Shield Doors?

HOW.

i like the maps design, and i mostly played at the top with the beam rifle and br, the shotgun isn’t worth the trouble
i think a few alterations in forge would make is a much better map, just swap the shotty with the overshield.

plus it was a great map for team duals.

I’m guessing there’s no maps that are Covenant themed because there were no Covenant locations in the Campaign, which is a shame.

LOL! I couldn’t disagree more. Those maps would be on a very short list of the worst Halo maps ever IMHO.

I really enjoyed zealot, as mush as reach sucked it was one of the few maps i realy enjoyed on it.

Doesn’t have to be covenant locations in campaign for covenant maps, the multiplayer is a simulation on the infinity so we should assume that they have covenant locations on file.

There’s nothing wrong with it canonically but it might have been spreading the resources too thin to design a whole new style of Covenant architecture just for one (or more) Halo 4 maps.
