I played Reach last night for the first time in months and I have to say the boys at 343 have done magnificent things with the TU. Job well done boys. The only problem now is the maps.
So for Halo 4… we need great maps! Wouldn’t kill you to bring back the Beam Rifle either (The Team Snipers playlist is unplayable in it’s current form).
So if we started with 10 maps… and 3 of them were re-makes, which 3 would you choose? I’ll actually cry like a baby if anyone says Blood Gulch… just because Reach has defecated all over it.
I’d say The Pit, Prisoner and Valhalla or Standoff or Lockout… I can’t decide

Halo 4 is going to be on an entirely new playing field with new environments and the likes
Halo 4 needs to be it’s own animal with MJOLNIR armor. People need to stop living in the past. Things evolve. Things change. People get used to these notions or else we’d still be using the Wampum as currency and wearing cheap white haired wigs and buckle boots.
There shouldn’t be any “remakes” or “honoring” of maps until AFTER the initial game is released. Half of the community always whines on the “rape of the map/game type” anyway or that it’s Not Familiar Enough or Too Familiar.
One of the many reasons why I continue my rant that Developers should do all the developing. Gamers should play the game and be happy they got anything at all.
im sorry but i have to go with a Blood Gulch/Coagulation remake. i LOVED them in Halo CE/2 but didnt like it so much in Reach. I would also like to see a Sidewinder remake, maybe a turf -esque remake, a Death Island remake, etc etc

While I like vast, open maps, that portray a big battlefield
I even more enjoy the more ‘closed’/compact maps like ‘Crater’.

Agreed. I loved how the bases went underground. I also liked how the layout WASN’T flipped like it was in Reach’s Hemorrhage. I hated the flip. And I forgot about Death Island, such an awesome map with awesome memories.
It’s good to have new maps. But, some of the old maps are so iconic it would be nice to re-visit them. As long as the maps work well with the gameplay then it doesn’t really matter.
Honestly, I hate Reflection because it doesn’t work well with Reach’s mechanics.
The on disc maps for Reach kind of seem like they were made without Armor Abilities in mind to be perfectly honest.
