Now obviously I do not mean the exact weapons that were in ODST even though that would be cool.
But the roles they played in the sandbox made ODST have the most balanced sandbox of any game. Balance matters in single-player/co-op just as much as it does online.
They were the perfect weapons for spawning in firefight. The M6S had fantastic range(4x), accuracy, and a good rate of fire balanced by recoil and low damage(that would probably be higher in multiplayer). It had a true long range niche and while ODSTs utility weapon(the carbine) was still good and valuable weapon to pick up without being the best at everything.
The M7S also offered something never offered in a Halo game before: a casual utility weapon. And while that may sound terrible to many a competitive player in an online environment, it was well balanced by high recoil(higher when scoped) low damage, smaller mag size(compared to the regular SMG), and slower TTK compared to the utility weapon.
You could only effectively use it at range by burst firing. It also would create a clear divide in casual and competitive gametypes
All casual gametypes sans maybe BTB spawn with M7S type weapon(with BRs on the map) and all competetive gametypes having BR type spawns. Social Blank/Firefight(M7S), Team Blank(BR).
TL;DR
We need the M6S type weapon for a balanced bridge between utility weapons and snipers
We also need the M7S type weapon(to a lesser extent) for Firefight and casual playlists

It’s called M6C not M6S.

It is also known as M6S: M6C/SOCOM | Halo Alpha | Fandom
MM scoped SMG would make for an interesting addition. It’d make the weapon semi viable at long range, so it’s not completely useless against precision weapons. Stop a lot of people complaining that’s for sure.

Right, sorry.
OT: I would like a weapon like that. Best pistol of the Halo series so far IMO.

Dual-wieldable?
