Halo 4 NEEDS an improved Theater!

Halo 3 Theater was good, in fact, it was amazing. It lead to the theater of the next Halo games (and even CoD games!). After a while, people weren’t fascinated by Theater, and just used it to jam with friends and watch their cool kills and funny fails. The first, and probably only problem, with Halo 3 Theater was fast forwarding, but the Theater was still amazing for it’s time.

Halo: Reach Theater was just a fail. Only 1 person to view it? Come on! What if i have a friend around my house, playing as a guest and we do something funny, do i have to sign him out to watch it?! It needed party viewing! The fast forwarding problem was still at hand, and still is. They were the only problems with Reach Theater, in MY opinions, but in other peoples opinions, it had no problems, or millions of problems.

So Halo 4 Theater should SUPPORT party viewing, and a better fast forwarding system where the longer you hold RT, the faster it goes. It also needs a “slider”. I’m not sure what the technichal name for it is, but every media player has one, whether it be for video files, or audio. We should be able to “jump” straight to let’s say, 8 minutes, without having to hold RT? Where you just press A at a point on the timeline, and it jumps you to where that place was.

So please people, state the problems and improvements Halo Theater needs, and maybe, just maybe, with enough views, a member of the admins (like BS angel) will take a look upon this mighty thread, and take the community’s advice on what Halo 4 theater needs!

Ciao.

I agree. The Black Ops theater mode completely owned Halo Reach. Halo 4 Really needs to improve in that section or it’s going to fall behind.

it would be extremly cool if you could upload the videos you made on the theater straigh to; Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc.

Was just about to post a topic about this

well said btw

The only thing I find necessary for Halo 4 Theater is the dissolution of invisible barriers. They are so annoying while trying to get the right angle.

What you’re asking for is called a timeline, and it would greatly increase theatre’s intuitiveness. What I would also like to see is the ability to assemble film clips, akin to simple video editor. Would make theater so much better.

Assembling film clips would be very good! But if 343i had that, they would need some kind of system to get those clip compilations onto a computer.

Check it out this is where you need to go. read on the theatre part

This is a case of a game doing too much at once. People think the more features and game modes you add the better, but that is rarely the case. Halo should work with what made it successful and set it apart and develop those modes to their fullest.

Why is it so hard for people to desribe Halo without comparing it to other games? Especially Call of Duty games?

I’d like it if 343 added some obvious issues, such as fast-forwarding and skipping to specific segments. But I wouldn’t want them to do anything big unless it wouldn’t take away from development in another area.

Because it’s a popular game and people like to compare like with like. You see the same thing happening with Call of Duty.

I’d like to see a rewind function, similar to fast forwarding but holding the left trigger. It would be nice instead of skipping back 10 seconds if you miss something small. I’d also like to see our Spartan in the center of the screen again when we’re floating around in third person.

Agree, and 343i should fix the “a hard drive is required blah blah blah” problem.

Doubtful, the Hard Drive cache is used to save the recent game’s list, without a HDD i dont see this working at all.

Anyhoo i do agree the theater would benefit from a few tweaks such as the ability to rewind (rather than the 10 seconds backward) and by bringing back multiple viewer’s (why Reach only allowed 1 viewer and H3 allowed up to 4 {if i remember correctly} i dont get it?).
