Halo 4 needs a good ranking system.

Halo Reach’s ranking system fails. It promotes no skilled boosters who boost to Inheritor in firefight or the enormous amounts of Credits awarded in the Challenges. Reach’s Ranking system is not fun, honestly, I dont care if I dont get to inheritor because it means nothing.

Now, if Halo 4 is seperated into ‘Social’- allows guests, different gametypes, and has less competitive feel and more casual feel.

‘Ranked’- does not allow guests, more competitive gametypes, maps, and other changes.

So Halo 3?

How forward-thinking of you.

Why not? The social-ranked structure was extremely good. I’d like to see it return.

yea, when something new comes out, its automatically and instantly better in ever way, shape, and form.

/sarcasm.

the point is reach matchmaking is abysmal, and halo 3 did it better.

then again, every halo game did it better because reach matchmaking doesnt exist. its a myth. the game just takes players, then pairs them up with other players when they are available. theres no ‘this player is level X, so lets put him against other players who are around level X’.

^^ believe it or not, it actually does use skill to match up players. that’s why not every match is completely lopsided. and we do not need your negativity on the forums, at least TRY to refrain from being so pessimistic. Please?

That’s why I’m an eclipse and get pared up with warrant officers and recruits still, right? -Yoink-!

I somewhat agree on this. We desperately need a better ranking system, but Not Halo 3’s System. It was Nice but it was too much work to get past 35. I myself had difficulty getting up there, it wasn’t skill, it was crap created by Lag. Me unloading a Whole BR clip on someone and not dying.

Do Not go back to the Halo 3 system of, you quit you loose a point, you loose you loose skill rank. However, if you Are Betrayal booted, you loose Exp.

Don’t use Halo Reach of You Play you rank Up.

Use something that’s about getting credits or experience due to accomplishing something. Like say you get an overkill from the grave then you gain 100 Exp or whatever. And make teaming up with friends being Restricted. Such as in a team game or 4v4 you Cannot start searching if you have 5 people.

Yes I know that Everything can be exploited, I realize it’s Impossible to eliminate it.

Here’s I have a question for Everyone, especially 343i I’ll post it in another topic.

Despite the fact that this is something from Halo 3. It’s true. Competitive players need to be able to play competitively. Sure you could waste the first week of the month GETTING to Onyx so you can play with all the other Onyx players. But ultimately it’s not fun getting there over and over again.

Halo 4’s visible ranking system should be experience based like Reach’s. However, there should be a much stricter trueskill enforcement, and there should be more incentive to win. Guests should be limited to a few playlists.

The skill based ranking system of Halo 4 should take elements from both Arena and H3, but should not be visible to anyone but yourself. It should also apply to several playlists like Halo 3.
