Halo 4 music in the NBA?!

Watching the playoffs rooting for my team and what’s this…Halo my favorite game ever IN my favorite sport!? YES!!!

what?

What track? The theme?

I must have misses that part of the game

Link or this is a complete fake. No seriously, where is it.

Say what…Halo track in the NBA…and here i thought the only song i would hear during an NBA playoff game is “Get Ready For This”.

Just did a very quick Google and Youtube search… didn’t find anything. However, if it truly happened, I wish I had seen it! Well… heard it.

LIES!

Proof or it didn’t happen.

Boston took a time out (1st half I bealive) and I heard it. Leaving and when the game came back on.

After the game ill get it. It’s the track that’s played in the commerical where cheif is with the SP4’s and turns to the camera all bad -Yoink-.

o.o

ROFL post the vid as soon as you can!

I guarantee its not actually the Halo 4 OST, but its probably that really generic sounding “DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN” thing.

Halo 4 has some damn generic music. Some pieces are ok, but the rest is garbage in comparison to Marty O’Donnel’s music.

So much vocal that you can barely hear the actual song.

The new music is good, and I don’t find it generic. It’s a step forward for Halo, and the old music will be missed.

So you just feel that abandoning the traditional theme was a good idea?

You know that africanese moaning you hear when you turn the game on? yeah, that crap is literally all over every single movie and video game out there. I mean, every movie or game that has a “important” or “emotional” scene, they use that kind of music. Gregorian chant, that was what Marty used, and it set halo’s music apart from everything. Not only that but the use of Violin and war drums in Marty’s music was just all too iconic for Halo, and 343 ripped that away.

Just watch This and watch up all the way up until 0:40 and tell me that isnt just some generic Star Wars crap that got copy and pasted into Halo!

THAT cutscene would have been so much better had it not had that damn starwars music in the beginning.

They only partially redeemed the music of this game by playing the original Halo theme immediately after, but that did little to settle my rage.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdDwxdqLyGg I bet it was this, not Halo related though…

everything i read was that 343 wanted to keep marty for the remainder of the series but he chose to leave.

i do agree that clip is heavily star wars influenced. but i, and many others, tend to believe that john williams is one of the greatest movie composers of all time and star wars has some of the best original scores ever. i thought the music went great in this scene. was it something ultra original? no, but nothing in any of the halos has been ultra original. but its been a nice blend of influence and this scene is no different.

i mean your whole post reeks of hatting just to hate.

The theme? You mean “Never Forget”? I don’t know if anybody ever told you, but that’s not the theme song…

That scene did indeed sound very out of place with that music. But I’ll say now that Halo 4’s OST as a whole does not sound overly generic. A lot of songs in it sound quite unique and I’d instantly be able to recognise the style. Neil Davidge’s and Kazuma’s music actually have more layers to them than Marty’s. Marty focuses quite a lot on melody. This is why people say they remember Marty’s tracks more. Melody just makes it easier to remember. Doesn’t make it better. People always look at soundtracks as something you individually listen, when it’s not supposed to be. It’s designed to work with the story presented alongside the music. To improve/add some flare to it. I feel Halo 4’s OST does this perfectly fine.

Come on already, OP! Give us the video!
