While the design of the maps affects how someone plays and their weapon, they still use the same sort of attachments. By making it so that you have a map at night, you give it different lighting causing the players field of vision to change their view to just in front of them. Likewise if it had a thunderstorm. A thunderstorm would disadvantage a sniper with view.
So as a member of the Halo Community I’m putting forward my suggestion for different times, e.g. Morning, Day, Afternoon, Night, and different weathers, e.g. Rain, fog, storm, snow, on future maps made.
So for example, I’m playing on a map in its standard time and weather. Two or so games later I’m on the same map but it’s at night now and snowing. This would make the game more interesting and cause it to be less boring over a longer period of time. you could also select the time and weather for a map in Custom Game options.
As an off topic thing I believe that the hornet needs to b brought back to counter the banshee better then the falcon can (this would mean a new covenant vehicle) and also new weapons for both teams to allow for more play style
well it would all comes down to how good the programming is for it. The maps in the Halo Reach map packs looked amazing so I have high hopes for Halo 4. It also comes down to how good the servers that 343 will b using
I like the idea, but weather effects are hard and processor intensive, I wouldn’t want them to have to make sacrifices elsewhere to accommodate changing weather.
This is something I’d expect to see next-gen though.

Halo games don’t use servers to match players, they use Peer to Peer networking.
I would imagine that there is a way to easily program time and weather presets for maps, though I imagine it would be much more difficult to make it really option intensive.
For example, for time I’m sure that they could design presets for time like morning, noon, evening, and night. But something like selective shades of an evening sky would probably be more taxing on the game.
I also think things like a rain, fog, and thunder would be easy to do. The problem with some of those though, especially in forge, is that the rain effect would probably be visible outside and inside structures, since forged building wouldn’t have the same properties as the map geometry. Snow would also probably be a problem since it would require a new map texture for fallen snow since I’m sure it’d be way to graphic intensive for it to generate on the fly.

I think if 343i could do this, they could also have it like a sunny map and while the match is happening a big alien ship fly’s past the sun shading the map? just a suggestion
well this is just one of many ideas that i hav. others include Water vehicles (Zodiacs and jet skies as well as covenant variants) which would increase the battle area. different helmets hav different HUD layouts, different armour has different affects, like it reduces the affect it has on the radar, the player speed, its damage resistance to explosives.

mate there ideas that could be implemented if refined. at least i am trying to think of ideas to make a good game better instead of harsh criticism about ideas that would of course need to be refined. no one has the perfect idea at first, hence why im putting it out there to be discussed

I don’t want to have a -Yoink- looking spartan just to have increased running speed or a reduced hitbox or whatever.
OT: YES OMFG CHANGING THE WEATHER ON MAPS WOIULD BE SICK IT WOULD EFFECTIVELY GIVE YOU A WHOLE NEW SELECTION OF MAPS
